  • Patent number: 6995354
Abstract: An optoelectronic sensor device for detecting precipitation on an outer surface of a transparent pane. The sensor device includes a beam guide attached to an inner surface of the pane and a circuit board offset from the inner pane surface. A beam transmitter is arranged on the circuit board to transmit, along a transmission beam path, a light beam toward the pane via the beam guide. A beam receiver is arranged on the circuit board to receive, along a reception beam path, a light beam reflected from the outer surface of the pane via the beam guide. A circuit substrate, electrically connected to the circuit board, is arranged parallel to the pane between the pane and the circuit board. An installation space separates the circuit substrate from the inner pane surface. A heating device is arranged on the circuit substrate in an area lying outside of the beam paths.

  • Patent number: 5639393
Abstract: An optoelectronic sensor device which has a beam transmitter/beam receiver arrangement associated with a beam guide element. The arrangement is disposed together with a heating device in a common housing. In order to install the heating device in a convenient manner in the surrounding area of the sensor device, the heating device consists of at least one heat conducting plate fixed to a support part, which is allocated with its substantial main areas to the beam guide element and is connected by at least one connection arm to the electrical printed circuit board. The heating device includes at least one heating element, which is disposed in the proximity of a connection arm directly on the electrical printed circuit board. For communicating the necessary heat into the heat conducting plate, the printed circuit board is connected at least in a material-locking manner to an associated connection arm.

  • Patent number: 5543923
Abstract: A sensor device is proposed for detecting the degree of wetting of a transparent pane by precipitation. The sensor device is provided with a beam guide element, which is affixed to the pane with the aid of an optical adhesive, and is acted upon by heat by a heating apparatus. A beam transmitter and a beam receiver are associated each via a lens. Such a sensor device solves the technical problem of guaranteeing optimum conditions for the transfer of heat to the beam guide element. The beam guide element has, in the central region of its rear surface remote from the pane, a recess lying outside of the beam paths. The recess contains a heating apparatus associated via a coupling medium with the beam guide element.

  • Patent number: 5227705
Abstract: A device is provided for controlling a windscreen wiping system, which mainly comprises a control stage, a clock generator unit comprising a switch and a clock-pulse generator, an I/V converter, a phase-selective rectifier and an amplifier with a low-pass filter as well as an optoelectronic apparatus having a plurality of beam transmitters, a beam guide element and a plurality of beam receivers. Such a device is intended to solve the technical problem of effecting automatic adjustment of the control system even under very widely varying measuring conditions determined in particular by the various damping factors of different types of windscreen.
