  • Patent number: 7166256
Abstract: In order to provide an alloy which, on the one hand, can be used for the synthesis of crown and bridge frameworks that may be provided with a tooth-colored veneer of ceramic material, and, on the other hand, enable the synthesis of model casting bases, a nonprecious metal dental casting alloy is provided which substantially consists of: 26–35 wt % Cr 2–6 wt % Mo 3–12 wt % W 0.8–1.5 wt % Si up to 0.3 wt % Mn 0.1–0.35 wt % N <0.1 wt % Ni 0.2–1.5 wt % Ta and manufacturing impurities of <0.1 wt % in each case, remainder cobalt, the content of tungsten being always greater than the content of molybdenum.

  • Publication number: 20050232806
Abstract: In order to improve the fracture strength of a dental casting alloy and to prevent it from becoming excessively hard, a dental casting alloy is provided substantially comprising: from 25 to 32 wt % of Cr from 8 to 12 wt % of W, from 0.05 to 0.4 wt %, in each case, of one or more elements in Group 4a and/or Group 5a of the Periodic Table, production-related impurities, the rest being cobalt.

  • Publication number: 20040109785
Abstract: To improve the fracture resistance of a dental casting alloy without giving rise to undue hardness thereof it is proposed that the dental casting alloy substantially consists of 1 28-34 wt % Cr, 5-9 wt % Mo, 1-3 wt % W, 0.9-1.3 wt % Si, 0.15-0.3  wt % Mn, 0.1-0.3 wt % N, 0.1-0.3 wt % C, <0.

  • Patent number: 5078599
Abstract: A method of inspecting a positive dental model having an impression plane comprises the step of first projecting a small beam of light of predetermined cross section on individual teeth of the model generally perpendicular to the impression plane, that is the plane perpendicular to which the impression fork was fitted to and removed from the patient's jaw. Thus the beam forms on each tooth a spot having a shape dependent on the contours of the respective tooth and the inclination of the respective tooth surface to the beam. The spot is moved from tooth to tooth on the model and the shapes of the spots of the beam on adjacent teeth are compared. If the shape changes, the teeth are not parallel and if there is a shadow or interruption of the teeth there is an undercut, and both conditions have to be corrected by regrinding the patient's tooth stumps. Similarly as the spot is moved, it can be used to measure the height and width of the teeth, the space between them, and even the overall arch length.
