  • Patent number: 5844337
Abstract: The present invention refers to an electric motor including a tubular housing member and at least one cover secured thereto, said cover having an insertion area, which is inserted in the housing member in an essentially tight-fitting manner and which is connected to said housing member by means of at least one deformed portion of an end face area of said housing member. This kind of connection between the cover and the housing member is to be improved. This improvement is achieved by the features that the cover abuts on an end face of the housing member via a flange and that it has at least one opening in the transition region of the insertion area and the flange, said opening being accessible from outside via an access opening and forming an undercut portion at the insertion area, a respective portion of the end face area of the housing member being deformed into engagement with said undercut portion by moving the ram into said access opening, whereby the cover is locked in position on said housing member.

  • Patent number: 5819361
Abstract: A wiper blade is proposed which is a part of windshield wiper systems of motor vehicles and is used for cleaning windshields of motor vehicles. The wiper blade has a multi-link elongated support bow system for a wiper strip resting against the windshield and has at least one upper support bow, on whose at least one end a lower support bow is hinged by means of a hinge bolt disposed transversely to the long extension of the support bow, wherein the upper bow of a U-shaped cross section in the area of the hinged connection extends with its U-shaped legs over a section of the lower bow of a U-shaped cross section in such a way, that the U-shaped legs of the two support bows essentially lie parallel with each other. The hinge bolt fittingly projects through the U-shaped legs in openings which are coaxial in respect to each other and the hinge bolt is provided with means for securing it against axial displacement in its center area located between the U-shaped legs of the lower bow.

  • Patent number: 5303803
Abstract: A variable dashpot for motor vehicles A cylinder (2) full of vibration-suppressing fluid accommodates a piston (3). The piston is provided with vibration-suppressing valves, is fastened to a piston rod (8), and separates the cylinder into two compartments. The compartments communicate through a bypass. The cross-section of the bypass can be adjusted with a component (11) comprising a stator (12) with windings (13) and an electric motor (10) with a rotor (17). The improvement comprises making it possible to continuously and highly dynamically vary the cross-section of the bypass in a dashpot of the same size. This is attained in that the stator windings are accommodated directly in a recess (9) in the piston rod, which is made out of a material that can be magnetized, and the rotor is provided with permanent magnets (22), activates the adjusting component (11), and is accommodated in a bore in the stator (12).

  • Patent number: 4571770
Abstract: A wiper device for wiping windshield panes of motor vehicles includes an oscillating blade driven in the direction transverse to the direction of its elongation and having a support with at least two pairs of end claws and an elastic rail having a wiper lip facing the pane being cleaned and held on the support by the end claws. Two end holding members are provided on the elastic rail which form stops cooperating with respective stop shoulders formed by the end faces of the claws to limit a longitudinal displacement of the rail and the wiper lip relative to the support. To permit the use of the same wiper element with the supports, the stop shoulders of which are positioned closer to each other, spacers are installed between the stops of the holding members and the stop shoulders of the support.

  • Patent number: 4543682
Abstract: In a windshield wiper device each wiper blade has a wiper element with a lip applied to a windshield to be wiped and a back portion held in an elastic rail made from elastic plastics. The wiper element is secured on the elastic rail against mutual displacement in the direction of elongation of the rail. A two-part yoke system which engages the elastic rail provides for a uniform distribution of contact pressures exerted on the wiper elements.

  • Patent number: 4327479
Abstract: A method for assembling a stator for an electric machine having a permanent magnet for generating a magnetic field in an air gap. Assembly of the stator is performed with the aid of a plunger, the cross section of which corresponds to the cross section of the air gap. The permanent magnet is slid into the interior of the plunger, whereas the flux return ring is slid over the same. The so formed sub-assembly is put into a casting mold adapted to be filled with a plastic material, which in its cured or hardened state forms a casing intimately surrounding the outer surface of the flux return ring and forming a face plate, to which the permanent magnet adheres. When the plastic material has set, the casting mold is opened and the plunger is retracted from the sub-assembly, resulting in a close toleranced cylindrical air gap space. After insertion of a bell-shaped rotor, a brush cover is assembled opposite the face plate.

  • Patent number: 4178651
Abstract: A wiping arrangement for a vehicle window has a wiping blade element, a support element, an axle insertable into the elements so as to pivotally connect them with one another, and a substantially V-shaped spring member having a central portion surrounding the axle and two diverging legs located at opposite sides of the latter. The legs of the spring member extends through holes of one of the elements and outwardly beyond the latter, and are biased to the element so as to be retained under the spring action of the spring member. The spring member is movable between one position in which it engages the axle and retains the same in a position in which the axle is inserted into the elements, and another position in which the spring member is disengaged from the axle so that the latter can be withdrawn from the elements to thereby disconnect the latter from one another.
