Patent number: 8303003Abstract: The invention relates to a latch that comprises a lock and a closing part that engages with the latter. Said lock comprises a catch (10) and a clink and said catch (10) comprises a receiving element (19) for the closing part and has a stepped profile in the direction of the periphery, said stepped profile having a prestop (13) and a main stop (14) for a locking point on the clink. Said catch (10) can be adjusted at least between three rotational positions which are an open position, a stop position and a main stop position. In order to prevent problems with the latch, the prestop (13) and the main stop (14) are placed on the catch (10) at a radial distance (47, 48), that is different from each other, in relation to the rotational axis (11). A sensor determines the different radial distance that is obtained in the prestop position and the main stop position, and informs the control device. In accordance with the information provided to the sensor, the control device performs the functions defined by vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2007Date of Patent: November 6, 2012Assignee: Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst GmbH & Co. Patent number: 8186730Abstract: The invention relates to a latch that comprises a lock and a closing part (10). Said lock comprises a catch (15), a click (20) equipped with an adjusting arm (21) and a motorised opening aid (30). Said catch (15) comprises a receiving element for the closing part (10) and at least one stop notch (17) for engaging the click (20). The opening aid (30) is equipped with an eccentric (40) that is driven by a motor, whereby the eccentric curve interacts with a lateral adjusting surface of the adjusting arm (21) and ensures that the clink (20) is displaced in a motorised manner from its locked position in the stop notch (17) into an elevated position. In order to prevent problems in the latch, an end segment (42) of the eccentric (40) and/or the adjusting arm (21) of the clink (20) is elastic.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2007Date of Patent: May 29, 2012Assignee: Huf Hulsbeck & Furst GmbH & Co. Patent number: 6902219Abstract: An actuating arrangement and method for opening and closing a hinged motor vehicle panel utilizes a controllable fluid drive and an uncontrolled fluid drive. The hinged motor vehicle panel is driven during opening from a starting position to a predetermined opening angle by the controlled fluid drive and, after reaching the predetermined angle of opening, is driven into its final position exclusively by the uncontrolled fluid drive.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2001Date of Patent: June 7, 2005Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Ralf Hess, Jürgen Moczygemba, Kurt Schaible, Roland Scheurenbrand, Wolfgang Schneider

Publication number: 20030193427Abstract: The invention provides a method for operating a portable hand-held transmitter for a vehicle remote-control system in which a plurality of activation sequences control a plurality of assigned control functions in a normal operating mode, at least one control function being assigned to each prescribed activation sequence. The activation sequences differ in the manner and/or number of actuations of an activation mechanism of the portable transmitter. According to the invention the portable transmitter is switched over from the normal operating mode into a programming mode by means of a switch-over activation sequence which is carried out via the at least one activation mechanism. Assignments of the prescribed activation sequences and of the prescribed control functions can be changed as desired during the programming mode.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 19, 2003Publication date: October 16, 2003Applicant: Mercedes-Benz AGInventors: Wolfram Schroeder, Jurgen Moczygemba, Martin Lindmayer, Michael Geber

Patent number: 6533342Abstract: An actuating arrangement for opening and closing a hinged motor vehicle panel has a fluid drive, a control unit, and a sensor unit. The hinged motor vehicle panel is movable between a starting position and an end position, and the control unit evaluates start signals from the sensor unit and stopping the movement of the motor vehicle panel in an intermediate position. The start signals from the sensor unit correspond to current angles of opening of the hinged motor vehicle panel, and predetermined angles of opening of the hinged motor vehicle panel define certain criteria. It is possible to set at least the angle of opening of the intermediate position via the control unit.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2001Date of Patent: March 18, 2003Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Wolfgang Auer, Ralf Hess, Jürgen Moczygemba, Kurt Schaible, Roland Scheurenbrand, Wolfgang Schneider

Patent number: 5869908Abstract: The invention provides a key/vehicle communication device in which an electronic key capable of being inserted into a steering-column lock controls activation of an immobilizing device having an inductive key/steering-column lock communication channel for recognizing whether a key authorized for use is inserted. A key/vehicle communication channel is also provided, for the remotely controllable activation of at least one vehicle-side function via a key-side actuating member. A vehicle-side control unit determines, via the inductive key/steering-column lock communication channel, whether a key authorizing the driving of a vehicle is inserted in the steering-column lock and, if so, blocks the vehicle-side part of the key/vehicle communication channel.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 1996Date of Patent: February 9, 1999Assignee: Mercedes-Benz AGInventors: Jurgen Moczygemba, Martin Lindmayer

Patent number: 5355525Abstract: The present invention provides a method of operating a hand-held transmitter for controlling vehicle functions. The hand-held transmitter has the ability to emit output signals for controlling both locking devices and drives for closing vehicle openings. A hand-held transmitter emits the output signals for controlling locking devices at a first output power and range and emits output signals for controlling the drives at a second output power and range. The second output power and range are lower than the first output power and range.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 1992Date of Patent: October 11, 1994Assignee: Mercedes-Benz AGInventors: Martin Lindmayer, Jurgen Moczygemba

Patent number: 5184022Abstract: A method and device for the electrical control of a central locking system and of a mechanical securing device (that provides additional lock protection) for motor vehicles by a lock cylinder that interacts with at least two control switches. This method and device ensures a better utilization of the electrical control switches, in that, an unlocking control switch assigned to the unlocking of the central locking system and the deactivation of the mechanical securing device is switched in addition to a locking control switch assigned to the locking of the central locking system. If the lock cylinder is pivoted in the locking direction beyond its regular locking position, the resultant joint switching state of the two switching control devices is evaluated to activate the mechanical securing device.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1991Date of Patent: February 2, 1993Assignee: Mercedes-Benz AGInventors: Klaus Claar, Hans Deischl, Martin Lindmayer, Jurgen Moczygemba, Jergen Schrader, Josef Schumacher, Claus Topfer, Peter Robitschko
