  • Patent number: 4743722
Abstract: A switch designed to be activated by touch contact has a switching chamber ith contact surfaces on opposite sides thereof. A flexible switching film carries one of the contact surfaces and is arched over one side of the chamber. • Patent number: 4720609
Abstract: A pushbutton switch device has a flat carrier having first and second swi contacts and a switch button arrangement for actuation of the first and second switch contacts. In order that the first and second switch contacts are switched in succession, the switch contacts to be actuated by a switch knob of the switch button arrangement are placed next to one another on the flat carrier. An insert having first and second switching surface parts corresponding to the first and second switch contacts respectively, is placed between the switch knob and the first and second switch contact. Upon initial actuation of the switch knob, the insert closes the first switch contact. Upon continued actuation of the switch knob, the insert will close the second switch contact.

  • Patent number: 4658235
Abstract: A plurality of switching points are connected in groups to respective teral contact points via conductor strips on a keyboard printer circuit film. In order to achieve suppression of the coupling capacitances with simple means, decoupling resistor strips are printed between adjacent pairs of the conductor strips and are connected with the said conductor strips. The decoupling resistor strips consist of the same carbon resistor layer material as the terminal contact points.

  • Patent number: 4643497
Abstract: A flexible carrier film with a printed circuit thereon is provided in comation with a terminal device which provides a plurality of terminal connection pins. A first part of the printed circuit contains a plurality of conductors, and a second part contains a plurality of resistor strips for supplying voltage levels to each conductor. In order to connect the first and second parts without crossings, a grid of connection strips is provided between the conductor strips and resistor strips and connected thereto. The film is bent along a score line extending through the grid and at a right angle thereto, with the conductor strips and resistor strips located on the outside of the folded film. The film is then clamped to the terminal device at the score line so that each connection strip is clamped on both sides of the score line.

  • Patent number: 4580022
Abstract: An improved key for typing keyboards or other terminal keyboards, which is ubstantially larger than the other keys and large compared with the contact to be actuated. In order to avoid tilting during out-of-center pressing, two shears are provided as a guiding means between the mobile and the immobile key parts. The shears are comprised of two frame parts pivoted about axes which are held aligned flush with each other. The shear arms provide four support points at their top free ends which enclose a rectangular surface which is practically congruent with the touch surface.

  • Patent number: 4442055
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of a contact mat suitable for a keyboard or ypad is described. This contact mat is produced by the injection-moulding process and consists of a sheet-like composite body made of an electrically non-conductive two-component silicone rubber, and at least one carrier part, which is elastically deformable when pressure is applied to a key and is moulded out in the shape of a calotte. On the inside of the carrier part and in the pole region, there is a contact component which is made of an electrically highly conductive material. When the carrier part is depressed, an electrical connection is made via the contact component between the contact surfaces of a printed circuit located below the contact mat. In order to be able to manufacture the contact component in a simple manner and without waste, the contact component is made in an injection mould, wherein the entire lower mould part is at a temperature above the vulcanization temperature of the contact component.
