  • Patent number: 4030926
Abstract: A storage medium for optical data recording comprises a dye-forming combination which on exposure to light within a first range of wavelengths reacts irreversibly to form a dye, but is substantially insensitive to light within a second range of wavelengths which is capable of energizing the dye to produce luminescence. The dye-forming combination consists of a heterocyclic compound of the formula I and of a cyclic dihalodicarbonyl compound of the formula II ##STR1## The symbols are defined in the specification. An example of formula I is benzofuran and an example of formula II is dibromomaleic anhydride.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4014771
Abstract: A mixture which is hardenable by UV-light in an extremely short time comprisingA. 30 - 95 % by weight of a reaction product of a polyepoxide and acrylic or methacrylic acid;B. 5 - 70 % by weight of a tri- to hexa-acrylic or methacrylic acid ester of a tri- to hexahydric alcohol or their mixtures andC. 0.2 - 10 % by weight, based on the sum of (A) and (B), of a conventional photoinitiator. The mixture is preferred used as binder for printing inks.

  • Patent number: 4001016
Abstract: Relief or resist images can be produced by means of a photosensitive material including a photosensitive layer with a polymer as defined hereinafter containing vinyl groups capable of being cross-linked upon exposure to actinic light to yield unsoluble cross-linked products at the exposed areas while the polymer in the unexposed areas remain soluble.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 9, 1974
Date of Patent: January 4, 1977
    Assignee: AGFA-Gevaert, A.G.
Inventors: Hans-Jurgen Rosenkranz, Hans Rudolph, Erich Wolff, Harald VON Rintelen
  • Patent number: 3992487
Abstract: Degradable polymers are obtained by either mixing a conventional thermoplastic polymer and a transition metal containing polymeric product in which the transition metal is bound in complex form through 1,3-dicarbonyl groups attached to the polymeric product or using the polymeric product as polymer alone. These polymers are degradable under the effect of natural weathering, ultraviolet rays and/or sunlight.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 25, 1974
Date of Patent: November 16, 1976
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Heinz-Peter Hemmerich, Hans Jurgen Rosenkranz, Hans Rudolph
  • Patent number: 3979454
Abstract: Improved process for the production of alkyl sulphonic acid hydroxy alkyl amides by reacting alkyl sulphonic acid chlorides and hydroxy alkyl amines in the presence of acid binding agents wherein aqueous alkali hydroxide solution is used as acid-binding agent, the three components are applied in a substantially stoichiometric ratio, and the reaction is carried out by adding the alkyl sulphonic acid chloride to the hydroxy alkyl amine and adding to the mixture thus obtained the aqueous alkali hydroxide solutions at such a rate that the pH-value of the reaction mixture does not exceed pH 10.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 17, 1975
Date of Patent: September 7, 1976
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Hermann Perrey, Harry Welz, Ralf Lange, Hans Rudolph, Hans Jurgen Rosenkranz
  • Patent number: 3960590
Abstract: Chromium oxide pigments intimately admixed with an alkoxylated alkyl sulphonamide to obtain a pigment having a low degree of flocculation.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 3936428
Abstract: Photosensitive polymers and their process of preparation which can be crosslinked by a vinyl polymerization initiated by photochemical means and which are derived from the reaction of polymers containing zerewitinoff-active hydrogen atoms with N-methylol compounds or with N-Methylol ethers of acrylamides or substituted acrylamides. The modified polymers optionally in admixture with other vinyl group containing monomers are useful for purposes such as photosensitive copying layers, coatings and molded articles.
