  • Patent number: 4302338
Abstract: Apparatus for metering and/or distributing liquid media comprising a substantially horizontal manifold and a plurality of generally vertical discharge conduits which depend from said manifold, said discharge conduits comprising discharge tubes which are open at both ends and are liquid-tightly fitted in and depend from said manifold, each of said tubes having a top end disposed in an upper portion of the manifold and at least one lateral opening disposed above a joint between said tube and the manifold and within said manifold.

  • Patent number: 4230569
Abstract: A process for supplying a liquid such as a liquid containing chlorine to a stream of another liquid such as a cooling water stream is disclosed wherein the stream to which the liquid is fed is passed in a generally horizontally disposed conduit and the liquid being fed thereto is introduced into a stationary manifold disposed thereabove which manifold is in fluid communication with the plurality of vertically disposed discharge hoses of differing lengths each of which has an outlet opening, the oulet opening is being substantially evenly distributed throughout the cross-section of the conduit. Also disclosed is an apparatus for effecting such a process.

  • Patent number: 4062442
Abstract: A shutoff control apparatus is incorporated into a feed station where material is loaded onto a belt conveyor. The feed run of a conveyor belt is supported by interconnected roller assemblies forming a trough-shaped roller support at each of a plurality of spaced-apart locations where the roller supports are swingably carried by a stationary frame. A horizontally-arranged rectangular frame is supported by leaf springs within the stationary frame at a closely-spaced relation below the belt supporting roller assemblies. Plate members project upwardly from the rectangular frame to extend between the roller assemblies. A drive motor for the conveyor belt responds to a shutoff control switch which is actuated in response to movement by the rectangular frame. The frame moves when a sharp-edged object penetrates the conveyor belt and establishes a driving relation between the belt and one of the plate members together with a roller assembly.
