  • Patent number: 5799523
Abstract: A device for influencing the profile of strip rolled in at least one roll stand includes adjusting units, bending units and possibly displacement units for the stand and spray beams adjacent the rolls of the stand for spraying cooling agent and/or lubricating agent onto the rolls, if necessary, in a controlled manner; the device further includes a regulating unit. Additional spray beams are provided adjacent the two end portions of the body of each roll, wherein the effective range of each additional spray beam extends from the respective end of the body of the roll into the area of the strip edge facing this end of the body of the roll.

  • Patent number: 5697244
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for rolling strip with axially displaceable rolls, particularly wear-resistant rolls. Rolls with increased diameter end portions are used. The rolls are axially displaced relative to each other in such a way that the rolled strip is in contact over the width thereof with the portions of the rolls having the smaller diameter. With increasing temperature of the rolls and, thus, thermal cambering of the rolls, the rolls are displaced in opposite direction relative to each other until areas of the increased diameter end portions are moved over edge areas of the rolled strip.

  • Patent number: 5651281
Abstract: A method for rolling rolled strips 3, 4 in a hot strip rolling mill 6, comprises at least two roll stands 6, 7, with horizontally adjustable top and bottom work rolls 10, 11. Each work roll is backed up directly or through an intermediate roll by a backup roll 9 or in a reversing stand where at least two passes are rolled, wherein the roll strip is subjected to a condition control for which profile the surface evenness-imparting correctively control elements act upon the rolled strip to meet requirements of profile accuracy and surface evenness of the rolled strips in spite of flexible rolling program if a target contour of the profile of the rolled strip 3, 4 is preset for achievement of which two groups of correction control elements act successively upon the rolled strip. The control elements 12, 13 of first group are brought to bear if a rolled strip thickness is above the critical thickness and influence largely the contour of the rolled strip in its central region referred to the strip center.

  • Patent number: 5591977
Abstract: An imaging device includes a means for defining an imaging target space and at least two scintillation cameras which are positioned on opposite sides of the imaging target space so as to define one or more matched pairs of scintillation cameras. Each of the scintillation cameras includes a scintillation crystal. Means are provided for tilting the scintillation cameras of the one or more matched pairs of scintillation cameras and their respective scintillation crystals, so as to maximize coincidence detection sensitivity by adjusting an axial field of view to match an axial extent of a target located in the imaging target space. Means for processing signals generated by the scintillation cameras are also provided.

  • Patent number: 5021242
Abstract: The invention is related to solid drug preparations of 2-phenyl-1,2-benzisoselenazol-3(2H)-one (EBSELEN) with high bioavailability comprising EBSELEN in the form of micronized crystals, and a method of manufacturing the same.

  • Patent number: 4998338
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for manufacturing hot-rolled steel strip from continuously cast initial materials in continuously successive work steps, wherein the continuously cast initial material is cut after solidifying to a certain length, is heated in a soaking furnace to rolling temperature and is introduced into a finishing rolling mill train for rolling out. The continuously cast initial material is introduced after being heated to a multiple-stand, reversible finishing rolling mill train and a coilbox connected downstream to the finishing rolling mill train.

  • Patent number: 4881396
Abstract: A rolling mill stand with work rolls which are supported as necessary by back-up rolls or by intermediate and back-up rolls. The rolls are axially slidable relative to each other. The bodies of the rolls are provided with alternatingly concavely and convexly shaped contours in such a way that the rolls supplement each other in at least one axial position of the rolls so that no gap exists between the rolls. Corrections of the roll gap between a pair of rolls can be carried out by relative axial displacement of the rolls. The contours of the rolls have in the neutral position thereof, in addition to a maximum inclination in the middle, maximum inclinations of the circumferential lines on both sides of the middle of the circumferential surfaces of the rolls in longitudinal direction of the rolls in which roll gap profile changes are to be effected.

  • Patent number: 4842865
Abstract: Use of glycofurol for the liquidization of pharmaceutical preparations containing more than 50% phosphatidyl choline with a high content of unsaturated fatty acids, which preparations can contain another active ingredient as well as phosphatidyl choline, and in which the viscosity so obtained permits filling into soft gelatine capsules.

  • Patent number: 4817703
Abstract: A process and apparatus for making hot-rolled steel strip from a striplike continuously cast starting material uses successive processing steps in which the striplike cast starting material after solidification is brought to the hot rolling temperature and fed to a multi-stand rolling mill for rolling to the finished rolled product. A continuous casting unit supplies the multi-stand rolling mill. The rolling to the finished rolled product occurs continuously in three or four roll stands to achieve the largest possible reduction per pass. The first two roll stands operate with an approximately maximum rolling moment and a large working roll diameter.
