  • Patent number: 8745613
Abstract: A method configures, in a semi-automatic manner, a communication device, connected to a packet-switched network, especially Internet, for communication with another, especially remote, subscriber. For this purpose, configuration data are provided on a configuration/software update server and are retrieved by the user of the device according to the user-specific or device-specific conditions by selecting from at least two types of inquiry data characterizing the conditions, e.g. inquiry data containing first country information items and second inquiry data containing second Internet service provider information items, and determination data.

  • Publication number: 20110174884
Abstract: The invention relates to a card (1), such as a credit card or ID card, which has several layers laminated with each other, wherein between a first card layer (21) and a second card layer (22) there is embedded a security element (2) which has a plastic or lacquer layer (4) with a relief structure (5). The relief structure has areas (5?, 5?) with different picture elements and produces a visible representation (6) and a hidden representation (7) which can be made visible with aids. The security element is adhesively bonded by adhesive layers (9, 10) to the two card layers (21, 22) between which it is embedded, the adhesives being chosen from the group which consists of physically drying adhesives and adhesives crosslinkable by heat, preferably water-based. Upon use of an adhesive crosslinkable by heat, the crosslinking temperature of the adhesive is lower than the softening temperature of the plastic or the lacquer layer (4) in which there is present the relief structure (5).

  • Patent number: 7863788
Abstract: A system for process-technological machines such as mills and classifiers having an enclosed design with no rotary unions between the ambient air and system interior. This system is particularly useful for CIP and SIP operation modes or glove-box operations. The mills or classifiers include an encapsulation that seals the components of the magnetic bearing spindle drive against the working zone of the shaft in the magnetic bearing spindle housing. The magnetic bearing spindle drive is designed such that the shaft can be removed to facilitate simpler and easier component exchange as well as thorough cleaning.

  • Patent number: 7557268
Abstract: Promoters which increase the pathogen-inducibility of genes in plants, preferably in sugar beets, rape, potatoes, corn, soybeans, wheat, rice, rye, barley, cotton and sunflower. The promoters are characterized in that they lead to the rapid local expression of the gene respectively under the control thereof in different organs and tissues of transgenic plants such as leaves, shoots and/or roots, after having been infected by a pathogen or wounded. This attribute makes these sequences ideal for use as a regulation element for the controlled expression of antifungal compounds and thus for developing fungus-resistant plants.

  • Patent number: 4658644
Abstract: A manometer device for continuous monitoring of the air pressure in vehicle tires is described which consists of a manometric capsule and an electrical indicator device associated therewith. A flatly conical membrane with a cylindrical projection is arranged transversely through the interior space of the manometric capsule. A permanent magnet is inserted in this projection. The membrane divides the interior space of the manometric capsule into two chambers, of which one chamber is stressed with a nominal pressure and the other chamber is connected to the pressure space of a vehicle tire. A stationary sensor, which is associated with the manometric capsule to be mounted on a rim flange, responds to linear magnetic field variations and transmits the latter to a terminal.

  • Patent number: 4574967
Abstract: A sealing cap for a container provided with a safety valve is described, this sealing cap consisting of a bottom part which can be screwed onto the container neck and firmly locked there and of a top part which can be screwed onto the bottom part. The bottom part serves to seal absolutely the container neck provided with the safety valve, by compressing, in a moisture-tight manner, the joint between the edge of the container neck and a molding forming the valve support. The bottom part, fixed in position by retaining tabs and detent lugs, and capable of being loosened only by force, remains fixedly connected to the container during use. The top part can be unscrewed.

  • Patent number: 4520948
Abstract: A flat, rectangular box 4 formed of cardboard contains a bag 18 of multi-layered foil material. A tube 24, which is disposed in the interior of the box in the transport condition of the package and can be removed from the box interior through an opening 10 which is closed by a tear-off strip, which is connected in liquid-tight manner to the bag 18 by a connecting piece. An outlet 36 provided at the free end of the tube is controlled by a pressure relief valve, which is provided in the tube and opens in the direction of the outlet. The walls of the narrow sides of the box each have a longitudinal fold along which these walls can fold outwards when the broad sides of the box are pressed together in order to empty the bag filled with a fluid, e.g. coffee extract. The one-way package is particularly suitable for use in a beverage vending machine in place of the storage containers employed until now.

  • Patent number: 4467816
Abstract: A device for collecting cell material from a body cavity includes a guide tube and a cell sampler which is retractable into the guide tube, which has a front portion and a back portion. The cell sampler has the shape of an inflatable balloon which is retractable into itself and pulled over the end of the front portion of the guide tube. The device also has an inflation means for introducing gas into the sampler to inflate it. Retraction means, which passes through the guide tube and is connected with the inner wall of the balloon-type cell sampler, has been provided for retracting the cell sampler into the guide tube.

  • Patent number: 4349134
Abstract: A safety container for dispensing highly flammable liquids is described, which comprises flexible compressible container walls and a safety valve which is designed as a membrane-controlled cone valve, closable by a cap. The membrane exhibits a central hole bounded by a sealing edge, through which a valve cone is inserted and contacted by the sealing edge. The cone valve is operated by pressing the flexible container walls together and thereby reducing the interior space of the container and raising the internal pressure.
