  • Patent number: 4938665
Abstract: A jet pump for the suction and/or conveyance of flowable materials or mixtures of materials by means of a liquid or gaseous propellant medium consists of a housing with inlets (28, 64) as well as a common outlet or discharge (30). A flow passage (44) in the housing forms at least one propellant nozzle and at least one diffuser, to which is attached at least one suction chamber (50-56) behind the propellant nozzle (34) for the material to be conveyed. The flow passage (44) has rectangular cross section and is limited by symmetrical side limiting surfaces on separate housing walls (10, 12), between which wall elements (18, 20, 22), consisting of profile members, determine the sectional contours and dimensions for all of the lengthwise segments through the inside of the housing parallel to the plane of symmetry. A simple manufacture with use of a small number of basic parts is thus obtained, which provides for an adaptation to different capacities as well as different propellant mediums and conveyed materials.

  • Patent number: 4516004
Abstract: A vacuum switching tube having an evacuated housing in which contacts are disposed movable relative to each other and an improved current lead for such a vacuum tube are disclosed. The current lead comprises a core and a jacket surrounding the core. The core is made of a material with low electric conductivity compared to the jacket and has a helical outer contour. The core can be made by twisting a rod of polygonal or star-shaped cross section. A jacket of a material with relatively high electrical conductivity and with a smooth cylindrical outer contour is applied to the core. The jacket is joined to the core firmly without space between them or is made in one piece with the core.

  • Patent number: 4466778
Abstract: An ejector device which has at least two ejectors formed by a corresponding number of axially aligned nozzles of increasing cross section in the direction of flow. The device is formed as a series of modules, each module having a transverse wall and a section of housing. These housing sections abut each other to form chambers between these transverse walls. The transverse walls contain the aligned nozzles and also openings between the chambers with one way valves permitting fluid flow only in the direction of flow through the nozzles. Various arrangements are provided for connecting the housing sections together. A valve arrangement permits selectively eliminating the vacuum in the first chamber.

  • Patent number: 4455706
Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing or reducing the amount of an adherent film of liquid on a surface. The apparatus comprises an elongate suction nozzle having a suction inlet and a longitudinal edge which comprises a scraping tool. In use, under-pressure in the suction nozzle is used to press the scraping tool against the surface and simultaneously remove liquid from the surface being scraped.
