  • Publication number: 20030161698
Abstract: In a method of machining a first and a second surface recess in a workpiece, the workpiece has a longitudinal axis and a first local Cartesian coordinate system. The machine tool has a longitudinal axis and a second local Cartesian coordinate system, the first and second surface recess are associated with a first and second recess longitudinal axis and a non-circular cross-section. The recesses are separated on the surface of the workpiece such that they are mirror images of each other about a plane along the longitudinal workpiece axis. A skew angle is defined between the first recess longitudinal axis and the workpiece axis in the first plane.

  • Publication number: 20030107370
Abstract: An inductive measurement is carried out of the distance between a workpiece (3) and a working head (1), which bears an induction coil (8), through which an alternating current flows and which is part of a resonance circuit whose oscillation frequency is monitored for changes which occur as a consequence of changes in the distance between the workpiece (3) and working head (1). In this case, the working head (1) acts on the workpiece (3) with a material (2) having a dielectric constant greater than 1. The frequency of the alternating current is in the megahertz region or just therebelow. Last but not least, the induction coil is screened from external electric fields in order to avoid the influence of parasitic capacitances.

  • Patent number: 6324714
Abstract: In order to simplify the construction of the mounting arrangement in a sweeping machine including a rotatably driven brushing roller which is rotatably mounted at each end in a frame and is driven at one end by a gear wheel which forms the mounting for the brushing roller at this end and the teeth of which engage in driver recesses in the brushing roller, it is proposed that the brushing roller be displaceable in an axial direction against the effect of a spring towards the gear wheel to such an extent that the mounting of the brushing roller at the end thereof remote from the gear wheel will disengage, and that the teeth of the gear wheel should engage in the driver recesses with so much play that the thus axially displaced brushing roller can be pivoted out from the region of the mounting by at least the radius of the brushing roller at said end remote from the gear wheel.

  • Patent number: 5332881
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool head for machining a workpiece by means of a laser beam (10), which passes through an optical focusing system (2) which is disposed within the tool head and which is carried by a lens mounting (3) and which can be positioned only by displacing the lens mounting (3) relative to the tool head in the direction of the laser beam. The lens mounting (3) is displaced using automatic setting means (8, 9; 23).

  • Patent number: 4568053
Abstract: An arrangement for adjustment of seats has a seat support which is connected with rails associated with a vehicle bottom. The front end region of each lateral support member is connected via a swinging member with the associated rail in a pivotable manner. Each swinging member has a toothed rack in which a pinion supported in each lateral support member engages, and the pinion is arranged on a shaft extending through the lateral support members. An actuatable locking device fixes the pinion in the toothed rack together with the seat support in selected positions in stepped manner. For lifting or lowering the front and the rear seat region independently of each other, or together with each other, the rear end region of each lateral support member is also supported on a shaft extending through the seat support and fixedly connected with a pinion associated with each lateral support member.
