    Abstract: The present invention provides a fast, simple and accurate method of identifying high value patents from within a patent portfolio, furthermore the invention can also be used to identify potential parties which could be interested in a patent, e.g. for buying it. To identify high value patents quantified parameters will be determined and assigned to the patents from within a patent portfolio. After the assessment of the overall quantified value of each patent and the ranking of the patents in respect of the overall value it is easy to identify high value patents.
