  • Patent number: 5211499
Abstract: A fastener for affixing a mounting track to a wall of a switchbox includes a retainer block for supporting a mounting track, the retainer block having a cross-sectional size and shape generally conforming to that of the interior cavity of the track. The retainer block includes a stop plate formed on a retainer block face, the stop plate covering the end of the mounting track when the retainer block is supporting the track. A fastening bore is formed in that end of the retainer block facing the stop plate and a sealing stay or rib is disposed on the retainer block to encircle the fastening bore.

  • Patent number: 5082336
Abstract: The invention relates to a control cabinet with a cabinet door in which a cutout has been provided, which cutout is enclosed by a cover. To obtain more space for additional assemblies in the area of the cutout of the cabinet door, the invention comprises a frame connected to a trough-like insert placed in the cutout of the cabinet door. The frame has a connecting section on the outside of the cabinet door which covers the edge area of the cabinet door adjoining the cutout and connects to a U-shaped closure frame which is open in the direction of the cabinet door. A cover is pivotally seated in the area of the lower horizontal edge of the insert, and can be brought into and maintained in a horiziontal position by means of cover hinges or cover stops. The cover can be fastened by means of a closure element in a closed position which covers the open end of the insert.

  • Patent number: 5052565
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for fastening the end of a C-shaped mounting rail to a wall with holes of a control cabinet or of a frame piece of a control cabinet frame, having a fastening block which can be inserted into the end of the rail and which is adapted to the inside cross section of the mounting rail and fastened to the wall by means of a fastening screw. Fastening of the mounting rail only from the fastening side of the wall is achieved by the wall having a row of rectangular or square cutouts and, placed between them and offset by one-half spacing, a row of screw holes. The fastening block is closed off with a fastening plate on the side facing the wall. The fastening plate has an L-shaped hanger on the side facing the wall, which is adapted to the cutouts and the thickness of the wall and can be hung in a cutout.

  • Patent number: 4908733
Abstract: A switch box for wall attachment with a box-like cabinet body having a rear wall and four side walls, the open side of which body can be closed by a cabinet cover or a cabinet door. Using thin starting materials for the cabinet body, an increase of stability, in addition to the possibility of further attachment locations, can be attained by attaching a mounting angle in each of four corner areas on the internal side of the rear wall. The legs of the mounting angle, provided with threaded mounts, are positioned in a plane parallel to the rear wall and spaced at a distance therefrom. At least one external longitudinal side of a leg is provided with a recess for fixing a support strip which is firmly screwed in the area of the open side of the cabinet body. At least one threaded mount of every mounting angle is accessible by a boring in the rear wall of the cabinet body.

  • Patent number: 4899900
Abstract: The invention relates to a switching box with a framework support formed from framework side units. The switching box is sealed by having a bottom wall, top wall, two side walls, and the open sides of which can be closed by means of a cabinet door and a rear wall, or by means of two cabinet doors. The framework side units form a hollow profile, which have identical series of holes on the two sides that stand perpendicular to one another and are oriented toward the internal space of the box. The framework side units have a protruding sealing bar on the side which toward the external side of the box. The costs of parts and labor necessary for assembly are reduced while retaining universal construction. At least one portion of the framework side units are formed by multiple bending in a single piece with the bottom wall, the top wall and/or the side walls plates.

  • Patent number: 4874321
Abstract: An improved space-saving and clearly arranged adapter apparatus for mechanical and electrical connection of installation devices such as automatic circuit breakers, motor protection switches, contactors, protectors, relays, and the like with bus rails of a bus bar system. The apparatus has an adapter housing which can be placed on the bus rails, contact bars in the housing, and adjustable clamps for mechanically and electrically connecting the contact bars to the bus rails. The contact bars extend to a connector side of the adapter housing and there form connectors for leads. The adapter housing has on its front a mounting bracket for mounting of installation devices.

  • Patent number: 4832627
Abstract: An improved input adapter for electrically connecting input leads with the bus rails of a bus bar system. Connection at any desired location along the bus rails is made possible without drilling holes in the bus rails by an arrangement in which contact plates are held in an adapter housing facing and in position for contact with the bus rails, a clamping arrangement for electrical connection of each contact plate with its corresponding rail, including a U-shaped clamp with clamp ends formed at the free ends of clamp side legs and engaging behind the bus rail, a clamp screw extending adjustably through a threaded hole in a clamp cross portion to connect the contact plate and bus rail, the contact plates having threaded holes in portions away from the clamps for screw attachment of the input leads.

  • Patent number: 4650262
Abstract: This invention relates to a base structure for a switch cabinet having in combination four corner sections, at least two transverse panels and at least two longitudinal panels. The corner sections have two vertical outer walls joined at right angles and the ends of the outer walls are bent inwardly to form mounting flanges provided with mounting holes. The top and bottom of the corner sections have cabinet mounting flanges with mounting holes. Transverse panels and longitudinal panels are screw-fastened to the corner section mounting flanges so their outer surfaces are flush with the outer surfaces of the corner sections. Corner sections, transverse panels and longitudinal panels are adapted to be assembled and disassembled from the interior of the base structure. This base structure configuration ensures that any panel may be removed from bases upon which switch cabinets are mounted in rows of cabinets, and reinstalled without moving the switch cabinets.
