  • Publication number: 20150087479
Abstract: A competition javelin made to conform to all the rules of the governing body, having the highest possible transverse moment of inertia at its center of gravity. With this dramatic increase in its transverse moment of inertia, the novel javelin's position in flight is less influenced by the aerodynamic pitching moment, resulting in longer flights.

  • Publication number: 20070068126
Abstract: The present invention relates to a shop vacuum cleaner cartridge filter spinner, consisting of a turbine mount, a turbine impeller blade and a cartridge filter mount, assembled on an axle. The suction air stream through the shop vacuum cleaner and through the turbine rotates the cartridge filter on the filter mount of the filter spinner, creating centrifugal force on the outer surface of the rotating cartridge filter, which inhibits particles carried by the air from settling on the filter. This rotating action of the filter keeps the filter relatively clean, with air passage through the filter unobstructed, which prolongs the optimum function of the filter and reduces the frequency of necessary filter service. The shop vacuum cleaner cartridge filter spinner can readily be built into a new vacuum cleaner or retrofitted in existing vacuum cleaners.

  • Publication number: 20070056253
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vacuum cleaner cartridge filter turbine, consisting of a turbine vacuum power unit mount, a turbine impeller blade and a cartridge filter cage mount. The suction air stream through the shop vacuum cleaner and through the turbine impeller blade rotates the cartridge filter on the filter mount of the cartridge filter turbine, creating centrifugal force on the outer surface of the rotating cartridge filter, which inhibits particles carried by the air from settling on the filter. This rotating action of the filter keeps the filter relatively clean, allowing air to pass through the filter unobstructed and thus prolonging the optimum function of the filter and reducing otherwise required filter service. The shop vacuum cleaner cartridge filter turbine can readily be built into a new vacuum cleaner or retrofitted in existing vacuum cleaners.

  • Patent number: 5277677
Abstract: An exercise machine is provided that includes two stepping platforms pivotally interconnected to a frame. The stepping platforms are moved in a substantially vertical direction by the application of forces during the stepping motion by the user. The applied forces are resisted by fluidic cylinders. A rocker assembly is used to raise one of the stepping platforms while the other stepping platform is moved downwardly. A pair of lifter elements interconnects the stepping platforms with the rocker assembly. The ends of the lifter elements pivotally move during the vertical movement of the stepping platforms. Preferably, the pair of lifter elements is replaceable by another pair of lifter elements having a different length for use in varying the range of vertical movement of the stepping platforms. The stepping platforms are of a size to allow the user to vary the force required to cause vertical movement of the stepping platforms.

  • Patent number: 5232420
Abstract: An exercise machine is provided that includes two stepping platforms with pedal arms pivotally interconnected to a frame. The pedal arms are moved in a substantially vertical direction by the application of forces during the stepping motion by the user. The applied forces are resisted by fluidic cylinders physically connected such that the fluid can be forced through a resistance valve between the two cylinders, enabling an adjustment to the resistance to the movement of the pedal arms. A pair of cables attached to the pedal arms and the cylinder piston rods interconnects the pedal arm motion via fluid, passing through a resistance valve, between the connected cylinders. Preferably, the pair of lifter cables are adjustable or replaceable by another pair of lifter cables having different lengths.

  • Patent number: 5230676
Abstract: A combination exerciser and baggage carrier having a rigid, main frame (11), force resistive pistons (17), force engaging plates (12a-b), handle portion (37), wheels (36), and a load supporting plate (32), is capable of selective engagement of either operational mode. The exerciser may be embodied as any number of cardiovascular workout devices, including stair stepping simulator (10), rowing machine simulator (40), walking/running simulator (50), and weight lifting machine (60). The baggage carrier is of the type used in areas catering to mass transportation travels, such as airports, and bus and train depots, and may similarly vary in embodiments, from standard two-wheeled carrier (30) to a multiple wheeled, horizontal push cart. The exerciser/baggage carrier is designed to tote one's baggage conveniently, then when such service is no longer required it is capable of space saving compaction, until when an opportunity arises, such as in a hotel room, office, park, etc.

  • Patent number: 4563001
Abstract: A portable exercising device having a pair of laterally spaced lever arms whose forward ends are pivotally attached to a base frame assembly. Each lever arm has a resistance cylinder whose bottom end is pivotally attached to the base frame assembly and whose top end is pivotally attached adjacent to the rear end of the lever arms. Each lever arm has a foot pedal plate mounted thereon. An action-reaction structure causes one of the lever arms to pivot upwardly in response to the other lever arm member being pivoted downwardly and also vice versa. A pair of telescoping pole members have their bottom ends attached to the action-reaction structure and they are capable of a forward and rearward pivoting action which is coordinated with the up and down pivotal motion of the lever arm members.
