  • Patent number: 4208895
Abstract: The ram of the press is accelerated to an acceleration-terminating point whereat it attains a speed providing for the required energy of impact upon the work. During the acceleration, the velocity of the ram is measured, as well as the deviation of the actual point of attaining the required speed relative to the preset acceleration-terminating point. Depending on the value of this deviation, either the extent of the acceleration path is varied, with the acceleration value maintained constant, or else the acceleration rate is varied, with the acceleration path length remaining permanent. To effect control by varying the acceleration path length, the control system is provided with specific electric circuitry controlling a transmitter generating a signal sent to a solenoid-operated valve, to vary the latter's position so as to vary accordingly the approach portion of the ram's stroke, and thus to vary the acceleration path.

  • Patent number: 4202174
Abstract: A hydraulic drive according to the invention comprises a gas hydraulic accumulator and a chamber whose volume is equal to at least the consumption of fluid by a User, e.g. a hydraulic cylinder of a press. This chamber is divided by a piston into two spaces. One of these communicates with the accumulator through a pipeline which is connected to a pump. The other space of the chamber communicates with the pump through a nonreturn valve, and with the User, through a closing device. This layout of the hydraulic drive steps up its reliability and ensures the possibility of controlling the pressure in the gas-hydraulic accumulator.

  • Patent number: 4191044
Abstract: A press featuring double-ended pressing action upon the blank, made use of in pressforging practice. The frame of the proposed press mounts the slides carrying the female die halves and those carrying the male dies, both of said groups of slides reciprocating towards each other. The slides carrying the male dies are actuated from the hydraulic power cylinders linked with their movable members to the slides through lead screws which in turn interact through their threading with the fly-wheels rotatably mounted on the frame. The essence of the invention resides in that the lead screws with their one end are movable associated with the male-die carrying slides and with the other end they are locked-in with the movable members of the hydraulic power cylinders actuating said screws, while the flywheels are interconnected through a mechanical gearing.

  • Patent number: 4186587
Abstract: The disclosure relates to forging and pressing equipment, particularly, to presses exerting double action upon work. The press of the present invention comprises rams carrying males dies and rams carrying female die halves, mounted on the press framework for opposing reciprocation and associated with their own independent drives. The framework also supports a mechanism for clamping the female die halves, incuding, in accordance with the invention, wedges reciprocably mounted on the framework. The said wedges engage the rams carrying the female die halves along sloping planes provided on the last-mentioned rams at the sides adjacent to the male die-carrying rams, the wedges associated with different rams being coupled with one another and with their drive by a rocker arm spring-urged relative to the framework.
