  • Patent number: 4944353
Abstract: An agricultural machine comprises a self-propelled chassis (1) and an arrangement for displacement of the working member (9) over the field surface, comprising a hermetic chamber (3) with a port (4), a source (2) of a fluid agent pumped into the chamber (3) under a pressure, and a flexible hose (7) wound onto a drum (5) and internally accommodating a tractive element (8). A section of the tractive element (8) projecting from a free end of the hose (7) mounts an attachment carrying the working member (9) and movably connected with the flexible hose (7). The free end of the hose (7) is passed through the chamber (3), turned inside out and hermetically secured in the port (4) of the chamber (3) so that it forms an annular space (A) communicating with the chamber (3) and by changing its volume under the action of the fluid agent moves the hose (7) over the field, which pushes in front of itself the attachment carrying the working member (9).

  • Patent number: 4891115
Abstract: An apparatus is used for both repair of operating pipelines and protection of newly built pipelines and comprises a cleaning tool (1) which is caused to move in the interior of the pipeline (5) under the action of a flow of fluid containing a dissolved inhibitor. The cleaning tool comprises a hub (3) on which blades (4) are secured in two rows to engage the pipeline surface. The blades (4) are displaced with respect to one another so that the angle between two adjacent blades is from 10.degree. to 25.degree. to define apertures along the periphery of the cleaning tool through which jets of fluid can flow to remove a part of deposits and to impregnate the remaining layer with the inhibitor dissolved in the fluid as so to form a protective coating. A support member (11) carrying an impact-type alarm member is mounted on the cleaning tool (1) so as to facilitate location of the apparatus in the pipeline and to maintain the apparatus in a desired position.

  • Patent number: 4876946
Abstract: A pump comprising a casing (1) having interior space in which there is provided a flexible hose (2) mounted for reciprocations having one end (5) thereof which is turned inside out and secured along the perimeter to the inner wall of the casing (1), and the other end thereof which is closed so as to sealingly divide the interior space of the casing (1) into two chambers (6,7) of which one chamber (7) communicates with a source (12) of fluid being pumped and with a delivery line. In order to move the flexible hose (2) in one direction, its closed end is secured to a drum (3) operatively connected to a motor and installed in one of the chambers (6,7), and movement in the opposite direction is effected under the action of working fluid pressure built-up in one of the chambers (6,7).

  • Patent number: 4841843
Abstract: A device for converting energy of a fluid medium into mechanical work comprises a hermetically sealed chamber (1) communicated through valves with systems for supply and discharge of a fluid medium. The chamber has an opening (4) in which a sleeve (5) of flexible material is secured through one end along the perimeter, the sleeve being mounted in the chamber (1) with a possibility of reciprocation relative to the secured end so that during the motion from the initial position to the extreme position a part of the sleeve (5) is turned inside out forming a space (9) communicating with the chamber (1). The sleeve (5) through its other end is connected to a drum (7) disposed in the chamber (1) and mounted on a shaft (6) coupled to a reverser (11) through an overrunning clutch (8). In the initial position the sleeve (5) is wound on the drum (7).

  • Patent number: 4839047
Abstract: An intermittent-action apparatus for filtering liquid has a sealed casing (1) in which a hollow cylinder (8) is mounted so as to define with the casing (1) an annular space (9) communicating with a system for removing precipitate. A driven drum (12) is provided in the upper part of the casing (1), and one end (11) of a filtering hose (10) is secured to the drum, the other end (13) of the hose being turned inside out and secured along the perimeter to the hollow cylinder (8) so as to define around the remaining part of the hose an annular space (14) for liquid being filtered, the annular space varying in volume during accumulation of precipitate therein and during movement of the hose under the action of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4828796
Abstract: A method of protecting the internal surface of a pipeline against corrosion resides in introducing into the pipeline a composition comprising 0.01 to 1 part of a phosphate and a silicate. The phosphate can be sodium polyphosphate or monosubstituted potassium phosphate. The silicate can be an alkaline metal silicate or silicon dioxide. The weight ratio of the phosphate to the silicate varies from 9-50:1, respectively, and the composition includes up to 100 parts of water. The composition is formed by fusing the phosphate and the silicate at a temperature of about 800 to 10000 degrees C. and cooling the fused composition until a vitreous structure is formed. The composition is then introduced into a pipeline containing water having a P.sub.2 O.sub.5 concentration of about 0.3 to 3.5 milligrams per liter.
