  • Patent number: 8951191
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting body condition has a communication unit capable of being worn by the body to be detected. The communication unit includes at least one sensor for detecting a signal indicative of the body condition. The apparatus has also a pickup coil of a component of a mobile phone arranged to operate as an inductive antenna for receiving the signal from the communication unit so that said pickup coil is further operable for said component in order to operate the mobile phone. An existing coil in the mobile phone is used for receiving the signal indicative of the body condition from the detector telemetrically. Therefore there is no need to add new components. Existing component can thus be used to detect the signal telemetrically at the mobile phone.

  • Publication number: 20100274568
Abstract: An approach is provided for monitoring user activity in linked services. A linked services enabler initiates monitoring of progress of a user towards achieving a goal corresponding to a service and for periodic reporting of the progress. The goal includes an activity to be completed in one or more linked services.

  • Publication number: 20100275215
Abstract: An approach is provided for linking services. A linked services enabler seamlessly links multiple services together by initiating a service and then invoking one or more linked services for the user to perform an action in one or more linked services. The linked services enabler then resumes the service after the user performs the action.

  • Publication number: 20100274617
Abstract: An approach is provided for rewarding user activity in linked services. A linked services enabler initiates synchronization of information related to one or more tasks and corresponding status of completion between a first service and a second service, determines whether the user has completed the one or more tasks based on the synchronized information, and initiates providing one or more rewards to the user within the first service based on the determination. The one or more tasks are created in the first service for the user to complete in the second service.

  • Publication number: 20080100502
Abstract: An apparatus, computer program and a chipset for performing a method, the method, comprising: receiving, at a first position and in a first reference system, a first radio signal from a signal source; determining a direction of arrival, in the first reference system, of the received first radio signal; receiving, at a second position and in a second reference system, a second radio signal from a signal source; determining a direction of arrival, in the second reference system, of the received second radio signal; detecting a displacement between the first position and the second position; and determining a distance to the signal source, by using the direction of arrival in the first reference system of the first radio signal, the direction of arrival in the second reference system of the second radio signal and a displacement between the first position and the second position.
