Patent number: 10764771Abstract: A method for channel signaling is described. The method includes determining (e.g., by a UE) whether at least one DL subframe is a valid reference resource. If the at least one DL subframe is not a valid reference resource, reporting measurements of a DL channel measured during the at least one DL subframe is inhibited. The method may include determining (e.g., by an eNB) whether reporting of the at least one DL subframe of a DL channel is required. If reporting is not required, a message configured to cause the at least one UE to inhibit reporting measurements of the DL channel (e.g., CQI measurements) measured during the at least one DL subframe is sent to the UE. Determining whether the at least one downlink subframe is a valid reference resource is based at least in part on the message. Apparatus and computer readable media are also described.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2009Date of Patent: September 1, 2020Assignee: Nokia Technologies OyInventors: Henri Markus Koskinen, Jussi Kustaa Ojala, Timo Erkki Lunttila

Patent number: 9414421Abstract: Method, operation of a method, and a result of execution of computer program instructions embodied on a non-transitory computer readable memory in a mobility management entity which determines whether a source and destination address of certain Internet protocol data flow are within a specific network in an evolved packet system for evaluating and controlling potential opportunities for device to device communication among two or more proximately located user equipment. In response to determining that the target serving gateway is the source gateway, identification information of the source user equipment is sent to a target serving gateway.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2013Date of Patent: August 9, 2016Assignee: BROADCOM CORPORATIONInventors: Samuli Turtinen, Sami-Jukka Hakola, Timo Kalevi Koskela, Jussi Kustaa Ojala, Kaisu Maria Iisakkila, Jari Jakko Isokangas

Patent number: 9281922Abstract: An apparatus 310 employable in a communication system configured to determine a value for a new data indicator for semi-persistently allocated or scheduled resources. In one embodiment, the apparatus 310 includes a processor 320 configured to receive a cell radio network temporary identifier indicating a semi-persistent scheduling. The processor 320 is also configured to treat a reception of data with a new data indicator flag in accordance with the semi-persistent scheduling as one of a persistent initial transmission if a value of the new data indicator flag is equal to a first predefined value, and a retransmission of semi-persistent scheduling data if the value of the new data indicator flag is equal to a second predefined value.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2009Date of Patent: March 8, 2016Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventors: Esa Mikael Malkamaki, Jussi Kustaa Ojala
