  • Patent number: 9386601
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment there is sent to a user equipment UE downlink control information DCI comprising an indication of an access codeword and an indication that at least one component carrier CC is activated for the UE, and there is received from the UE the access codeword which is an acknowledgement that the UE has activated the at least one CC. The access codeword is received on an uplink channel which a) lies in the at least one activated CC if there is an activated uplink channel in the activated CC, or b) is previously activated if there is no activated uplink channel in the activated CC. In another embodiment DCI comprising the above two indications is received from a network, the received indications are used to select and access the at least one CC; and activating the CC is acknowledged by sending the access codeword.

  • Patent number: 9198137
Abstract: There is stored in a memory an association between each nth one of N content types with a respective nth group of N groups of identifiers (N is an integer greater than one, n indexes from 1 to N, and at least one of the groups has more than one identifier). A beacon sender selects one of the content types for a beacon to be transmitted and selects a beacon identifier from the group associated with the selected content type. The beacon to be transmitted is compiled to include content of the selected content type and the selected beacon identifier. The beacon receiver selects at least one of the content types; and for a plurality of beacons received, filters out from further processing each beacon having a beacon identifier that is not within the group of identifiers associated with any of the at least one selected content types. The network creates the association and broadcasts it in a network cell.

  • Patent number: 9185565
Abstract: A method, device, and system that use narrowband channels to provide higher re-use without multiplying the operator spectrum requirement. • Publication number: 20150282080
Abstract: A device includes circuitry configured to receive discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration parameters for at least one cell. The circuitry is also configured to determine that the at least one cell is in an ON state or an OFF state. A device-specific DRX cycle or a common DRX cycle is activated corresponding to the DRX configuration parameters based on the at least cell being in the ON state or the OFF state.

  • Publication number: 20150282103
Abstract: A device includes circuitry configured to determine that a total transmit power of two or more pending transmissions exceeds a maximum transmit power. Power difference thresholds are determined for the two or more pending transmissions corresponding to a difference between a desired transmit power and an allowed transmit power. At least one pending transmission is identified to send based on the power difference thresholds.

  • Publication number: 20150023261
Abstract: A persistent or a semi-persistent uplink resource allocation also comprises an indication for a user equipment UE to send channel quality reports. The format for the channel quality report is determined (based on a transmission mode for which the UE receives a downlink shared channel). In at least first transmissions of user data for instances of the persistently allocated uplink resource the UE sends user data and a channel quality report according to the determined format. For the case that a NACK is received in reply to one of those sent user data with channel quality reports, four options are detailed: re-send the NACK'd user data on a next instance of the persistently allocated UL resource with or without a channel quality report, and re-send the NACK'd user data on a dynamically allocated uplink resource with or without a channel quality report.

  • Patent number: 8787227
Abstract: A new RRC Connected (mobility) state in which a UE utilizes a temporary identifier to monitor a downlink control channel in accordance with a discontinuous reception cycle; and maintains the new connected state, the discontinuous reception cycle and the temporary identifier while the UE re-selects to a second/serving access node which lies within a same designated reselection area as a first/source access node. The DRX cycle is maintained but re-aligned with a system frame number of the second access node; the temporary identifier is a CRNTI and the designated re-selection area is defined by all contiguous cells in which respective access nodes broadcast the CRNTI in system information; the UE re-selects to the second access node; and the UE enters the new connected mobility state automatically upon expiry of a time alignment timer or upon explicit network signaling while in a different connected state.

  • Patent number: 8559381
Abstract: A predetermined parameter is used to determine a rate of uplink radio resources to downlink radio resources. Then an uplink radio resource is mapped to a unique one of the downlink radio resources dependent at least in part on the rate. There is then received on the mapped unique one of the downlink radio resources a reply to the uplink radio resource. Apparatus and computer programs are also described, for both a user equipment and a network node.
