  • Publication number: 20220174145
Abstract: A method includes: while displaying a wake screen with a first media item as a background and foreground objects displayed over the first media item, detecting first user input that corresponds to a request to display a media gallery; in response to detecting the first user input, ceasing display of the foreground objects; detecting a second user input that corresponds to a request to navigate through media items in the media gallery; in response to detecting the second user input, replacing the first media item with a second media item in the media gallery; detecting a third input that corresponds to a request to dismiss the media gallery; and, in response to detecting the third user input, redisplaying the foreground objects on the display device over a media item from the media gallery that is selected as the background for the wake screen.

  • Patent number: 10659302
Abstract: In the described embodiments, a device configuration file is used to set configuration settings on a computing device during a configuration operation (e.g., an initial configuration or a re-configuration of the computing device). The device configuration file is retrieved from a location where the device configuration file is hosted using a reference to the location from a bootstrap configuration. The bootstrap configuration is provided by a bootstrap configuration server and is retrieved by the computing device from the bootstrap configuration server during the configuration operation.

  • Patent number: 9811381
Abstract: Resource restrictions are associated with a user identifier. A resource restriction agent receives operating system calls related for resources and provides resource request data to a resource agent. The resource agent determines whether the resource is restricted based on the resource request data and resource restriction data and generates access data based on the determination. The resource restriction agent grants or denies the system call based on the access data.

  • Patent number: 8813167
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses that store a generic profile in a client device for configuration are described. The generic profile may include profile payloads associated with profile predicates. The profile payloads may specify a range of possible settings for configuring the client device. The profile predicates may specify which of the possible settings are applicable for the configuration according to system states of the client device. Changes in the system states may be dynamically determined during runtime. A portion of the profile payload applicable for the determined changes of the system states may be identified via associated profile predicates. As a result, the configuration of the client device may be updated for the change of the system states by applying the identified portion of the profile payload.

  • Publication number: 20140150115
Abstract: The described embodiments include a content provider device that can assign items of content (applications, digitally-rendered music, books, videos, etc.) to users upon receiving assignment messages from administrative devices. The items of content can be electronically transferred to the user's devices to be used by users. The content provider device can also revoke assignments of items of content from users upon receiving revocation messages from administrative devices. The revocation generally causes the loss of one or more rights to the item of content for the user. For example, the content provider device can stop providing services for the item of content and/or can cause the item of content to be deleted from a corresponding user's device.
