  • Publication number: 20190074025
Abstract: Step size can be used to slow or freeze the adaptive filter to improve AEC system performance, such as during double talk events. An AEC control system may be used to adjust the step size based on an echo-to-disturbance energy ratio (EDER). The algorithm adjusts the step size to lower the adaptation rate when the EDER is small (or the combination of the near signal and noise is large compared to the echo) and raise the adaptation rate when the EDER is large (echo is large compared to a combination of near signal and noise).

  • Patent number: 10200251
Abstract: System and techniques are described for applying selectable applications to process data packets an adaptive private network (APN). Methods to select application specific processing within a WAN ingress processing pipeline begin with receiving a packet from a local area network (LAN) in an adaptive private network (APN) WAN ingress processing stages. The received packet is identified to be separately processed by a selected application that is different than standard ingress processing. Packet processing flow is redirected to the selected application for application specific processing of the received packet in response to the packet being identified to be separately processed. The separately processed packet is returned to the standard ingress processing after completing the separate processing.

  • Publication number: 20180141158
Abstract: A method of laser welding a workpiece stack-up (10) that includes at least two overlapping steel workpieces (12, 14) comprises directing a laser beam (40) at a top surface (26) of the workpiece stack-up to form a keyhole (56) surrounded by a molten steel weld pool (58). The laser beam is conveyed along a predefined weld pattern that includes one or more nonlinear inner weld paths (66) and an enclosed outer peripheral weld path (68) surrounding the one or more nonlinear inner weld paths. During conveyance of the laser beam along the one or more nonlinear inner weld paths, the keyhole fully penetrates through the workpiece stack-up from the top surface of the stack-up to the bottom surface (28) of the stack-up. The method produces weld joints between the steel workpieces that do not have an intentionally imposed gap formed between their faying surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20180045939
Abstract: A beam-scanning optical design is described for achieving up to kHz frame-rate optical imaging on multiple simultaneous data acquisition channels. In one embodiment, two fast-scan resonant mirrors direct the optical beam on a circuitous trajectory through the field of view, with the trajectory repeat-time given by the least common multiplier of the mirror periods. Dicing the raw time-domain data into sub-trajectories combined with model-based image reconstruction (MBIR) 3D in-painting algorithms allows for effective frame-rates much higher than the repeat time of the Lissajous trajectory. Because sub-trajectory and full-trajectory imaging are different methods of analyzing the same data, both high-frame rate images with relatively low resolution and low frame rate images with high resolution are simultaneously acquired.

  • Publication number: 20170207976
Abstract: Techniques are described to automatically activate and deactivate standby backup paths in response to changing bandwidth requirements in an adaptive private network (APN). The APN is configured with one or more regular active wide area network (WAN) links in an active mode and an on-demand WAN link in a standby mode. The on-demand WAN link is activated to supplement the conduit bandwidth when an available bandwidth of the conduit falls below a pre-specified trigger bandwidth threshold and the conduit bandwidth usage exceeds a usage threshold of a bandwidth of the conduit that is being supplied by the active paths (BWC). The on-demand WAN link is deactivated to standby mode when an available bandwidth of the conduit is above the pre-specified trigger bandwidth threshold and the conduit bandwidth usage drops below the usage threshold of BWC. Techniques for adaptive and active bandwidth testing of WAN links in an APN are also described.

  • Publication number: 20170190256
Abstract: A method for controlling the charging of one or more electric vehicles at one or more charging stations in a geographic locality includes determining if the charging event of an electric vehicle of the one or more electric vehicles increases a demand billing rate. The demand billing rate may be a cost per unit of energy in the locality. The method also includes charging the electric vehicle at the charging event such that the demand billing rate is not increased.
