  • Patent number: 11620415
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for making a flow conditioning device that transforms an input flow into a desired output flow. The process includes the steps of inputting into a computer program a set of design constraints representative of the input flow and the output flow. The computer program generates a design representative of a flow-conditioning device that transforms the input flow into the output flow. The process then provides the output design to an additive manufacturing or other suitable production system adapted to form a solid representation of the flow-conditioning device.

Assignee: VIRGINIA TECH INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES, INC.
Inventors: Anthony M. Ferrar, William C. Schneck, Walter F. O'Brien, Kevin M. Hoopes, Justin Bailey
  • Patent number: 11596679
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for inducing an adaptive immune response against Hepatitis C virus (HCV) in a subject. In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides a composition comprising a nucleic acid molecule encoding a HCV antigen, an HCV antigen, an adjuvant, or a combination thereof. For example, in some embodiments, the composition comprises a vaccine comprising a nucleic acid molecule encoding a HCV antigen, an HCV antigen, an adjuvant, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 11180758
Abstract: Three proteins, BCL-G (BCL2L14), CMPK2, and LAMP3, were discovered to independently restrict HIV-1 replication both in-vivo and in-vitro. Methods are described wherein subjects are given an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a protein selected from the group consisting of BCL-G, CMPK2, LAMP3, functional parts thereof, recombinant proteins thereof, and combinations thereof, for the purpose of treating or preventing HIV.

  • Publication number: 20200254158
Abstract: A drain immobilization device for the securement or fixation of surgical drains during surgery or post-surgery to remove fluids accumulated in a wound site or other area, wherein instead of having the surgical tubes fastened to the patient's body by sutures or stitches the surgical tubes are held inside of a clasp, the clasp attached to a base, the base having a layer of adhesive to attach to the patient's skin.
