  • Patent number: 12294827
Abstract: An ear-wearable electronic device includes aa shell having a uniquely-shaped outer surface that corresponds uniquely to an ear geometry of a user of the ear-wearable device. The device includes a mounting structure that is formed contiguously with the shell and intersects an inner surface of the shell. The mounting structure includes a mounting surface operable to fixably mount an interchangeable device to the shell. The mounting structure defines a void that extends from the inner surface to the outer surface of the shell. The mounting structure has a reference feature that is positioned relative to the outer surface of the shell such that the interchangeable device is located at a target orientation relative to the outer surface.

  • Patent number: 12225357
Abstract: An ear-wearable electronic device includes a shell with a cable retention slot. The cable entrance slot has an interior end and an exterior end. A bend surface extends from the exterior end of the cable retention slot to an exterior surface of the shell. The bend surface aligned with a crux of a user's ear when the ear-wearable device is installed in an ear of the user's ear. The shell may include a uniquely-shaped outer surface that corresponds uniquely to an ear geometry of the user of the ear-wearable device.

  • Patent number: 12069438
Abstract: An ear-wearable electronic device includes a shell having a uniquely-shaped outer surface that corresponds uniquely to an ear geometry of a user of the ear-wearable device. The device includes an elongated sensor assembly. A mounting bridge is formed integrally with the shell and has a mounting surface that supports the elongated sensor assembly. An elongated void is in the shell that exposes the mounting surface of the mounting bridge. The shell includes an access void that extends from the inner surface to the outer surface of the shell near a first end of the mounting bridge. The access void is larger than a minor cross section of the elongated sensor assembly such that the elongated sensor assembly is able to pass through the access void and be held against the mounting surface.

  • Publication number: 20230319487
Abstract: Disclosed herein, among other things, are systems, apparatus and methods for directional microphone accessories for hearing device applications. An apparatus includes a base, at least one strap configured to attach the base to a top portion of a seat back, and a pivoting mount configured to be attached to the base, the pivoting mount configured to hold a directional microphone assembly. The pivoting mount is further configured to maintain the directional microphone assembly in an approximately horizontal orientation independent of a recline angle of the seat back.

  • Publication number: 20230094165
Abstract: An ear-wearable electronic device has a shell with an outer surface. A mounting void goes through the outer surface of the shell and exposes an internal volume of the shell. The mounting void is located at an ear-contacting region of the shell. The ear-wearable device includes a photoplethysmography sensor assembly having an optical transmission structure mounted in the mounting void and having a distal end exposed proximate the outer surface. The distal end of the optical transmission structure conforms to the outer surface of the shell at the ear-contacting region. The distal end is in contact with ear tissue of a user of the ear-wearable electronic device during use.

  • Publication number: 20230065996
Abstract: An ear-wearable electronic device is housed within a shell. The shell includes an organically-shaped outer surface that corresponds uniquely to an ear geometry of a user of the ear-wearable device. The shell also has a faceplate void that has a curved and beveled perimeter edge. The faceplate void facilitates access to one or more devices installable into the shell. A faceplate is installed in the faceplate void. The faceplate has a beveled edge that mates with the perimeter edge. The faceplate includes an unbroken covering surface that matches the outer surface of the shell surrounding the faceplate void.
