  • Patent number: 11498447
Abstract: A vehicle includes a controller that sends a charge request defining a charge location to a charge donor vehicle for vehicle-to-vehicle charging, responsive to not detecting a charge cable that satisfies the charge request in the vehicle and the charge donor vehicle, sends a borrow request including the charge location to a charge cable donor vehicle, and responsive to confirmation from the charge donor vehicle and charge cable donor vehicle, directs the vehicle to drive to the charge location.

  • Patent number: 11433778
Abstract: A vehicle includes an electric machine, a battery, a power takeoff, a display unit, and a controller. The electric machine is configured to propel the vehicle. The battery is configured to provide electrical power to the electric machine. The power takeoff is configured to transfer power from the battery to one or more external devices. The display unit is configured to display a distance-to-empty. The controller is programmed to, adjust the distance-to-empty based on an expected energy use of the one or more external devices.

  • Publication number: 20220237952
Abstract: Systems and methods for modeling electric vehicle towing are disclosed herein. An example method includes determining that a trailer is connected to a vehicle, generating a surface mapping of the trailer based on output of a sensor assembly of the vehicle, predicting a drag coefficient of the trailer based on the surface mapping, estimating a drag force based on the drag coefficient and the surface mapping, calculating an estimated range for the vehicle based on the drag force, and displaying the estimated range on a human machine interface of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20220194255
Abstract: A vehicle includes a traction battery, a human-machine interface (HMI), and a controller. The controller responsive to detecting electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) utilizing multiple price tiers corresponding to multiple maximum charge powers, outputs a message indicating a charge price corresponding to the maximum charge power for each of the price tiers via the HMI. The controller also, responsive to receiving user input indicating an adjusted maximum charge power less that a default maximum charge power of the vehicle, sends the adjusted maximum charge power to the EVSE and permits charging from the EVSE at or below the adjusted maximum charge power.

  • Patent number: 11164401
Abstract: A vehicle system includes a vehicle component with a component temperature sensor, and a fluid circuit in fluid communication with the component and with a fluid temperature sensor. A controller is in communication with the component sensor and the fluid sensor. The controller is configured to, in response to a temperature difference between the component sensor and the fluid sensor being greater than a predetermined threshold value, output a flag or a diagnostic code indicative of a fluid level in the fluid circuit. A vehicle diagnostic method and a vehicle are also provided.
