  • Publication number: 20240115252
Abstract: Instruments, systems, and methods for securing anchors, elastomeric devices, and other elements in bone. In one example, an instrument includes a collar movable between a locked configuration that prevents an insertion shaft of the instrument from translating relative to a drive shaft of the instrument and an unlocked configuration that does not prevent the insertion shaft from translating relative to the drive shaft. In another example, an instrument for securing an elastomeric device to bone includes a lock movable between locked and unlocked configurations (e.g. similar to or the same as the collar in the previous example) that facilitates insertion of the elastomeric device into a bone opening when the lock is in the locked configuration, and subsequent insertion of a bone implant into the bone opening when the lock is in the unlocked configuration.

  • Publication number: 20240110525
Abstract: A system for determining properties of fuel supplied to an internal combustion (IC) engine and for adjusting operations of the IC engine based on the determined properties. The system includes an air-flow throttle configured to control the air supplied to the IC engine; a fuel-flow throttle configured to control the fuel supplied to the IC engine; and an engine control module (ECM) configured to receive readings from and control operation of the throttles. The ECM is configured to perform a fuel-air determination program where the ECM determines a percent-error air-to-fuel ratio (AF) based on a true AF ratio compared to an ideal AF ratio. The ECM is configured to perform a fuel property determination and adjustment program in which the ECM is configured to adjust operations of the IC engine based on a fuel property value determined using the percent-error AF ratio.

  • Publication number: 20200090556
Abstract: Customizing messages using character patches, by attaching a set of character patches to a substrate, using hook and loop fasteners. An assortment of character patches is selected and provided by a supplier. The user selects which ones, but not all, of the assortment to use, as a set, and arranges the set in a desired order to create a user-determined message. The selected character patches are mounted to one or more receptive patches on the substrate, in the arranged order, displaying the user-determined message. A sheet of the assortment of character patches, die-cut in a character patch layer, can be supplied mounted on a backing layer. As the user selects and removes character patches, the remaining character patches remain all together, mounted on the backing layer. The characters include at least one of numbers, letters, or other readily-recognized non-artistic characters, and can include characters which contain only artistic expressions.
