Abstract: A speed-based raise/lower control system receives a path plan for use in navigating a grass mowing vehicle. A lookahead processor looks ahead by a lookahead distance to determine whether an implement control event (such as a raise event or a lower event) is to occur within the lookahead distance. A dynamic actuation point identifier calculates a location of an actuation point, where a command is to be issued to commence the implement control event, based upon a current speed of the mowing vehicle. The dynamic actuation point identifier continues to update the location of the actuation point based upon a current speed of the mowing vehicle until a location of the mowing vehicle is within a threshold distance of the location of the actuation point. An actuation control signal generator generates the actuation control command signal to commence the implement control event when the current position of the mowing vehicle is within the threshold distance of the location of the actuation point.
