Patent number: 11466797Abstract: A grommet assembly configured to be disposed within an aperture in a panel having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface is presented herein. The grommet assembly includes a grommet frame configured to contact the first surface of the panel and an elastomeric region extending from the grommet frame and configured to be inserted within the aperture. The elastomeric region defines a plurality of ribs angled such that the ribs are configured to provide an insertion force when the elastomeric region is inserted within the aperture and provide a removal force greater than the insertion force when the elastomeric region is withdrawn from the aperture. A method of manufacturing the grommet assembly is also presented.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2019Date of Patent: October 11, 2022Assignee: HellermannTyton CorporationInventor: Justin Gallion

Patent number: 11209030Abstract: A fastener assembly includes a clamp body six channels extending therethrough configured to permit a cable tie or strap to be passed therethrough. A first channel is coplanar with and perpendicular to a second channel. A third channel is coplanar with and perpendicular to a fourth channel. A fifth channel is coplanar with and perpendicular to a sixth channel. The first and second channels are perpendicular to the third and fourth channels and parallel to the fifth and sixth channels. The fastener assembly includes a clamp body having an upper clamping arm, a lower ramp arm and a stress arm therebetween and a retaining segment slideably connected to the lower ramp arm. The lower ramp arm defines a pair of ramp ledges that are slideably received within a pair of wedge channels defined by the retaining segment.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2018Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: HellermannTyton CorporationInventors: Reese L. Vaughn, Justin Gallion, Christopher J. Rohde

Patent number: 10969037Abstract: A two-piece grommet assembly is placed on opposite sides of an opening in a panel and secured thereto. The grommet pieces can be identical in construction. One piece of the grommet assembly is placed on a first side of the panel opening and the second piece of the grommet assembly is placed on the opposite side of the opening. They are applied in mirror orientation and thus “sandwich” the panel opening. The pair of grommets are secured within the opening and to each other with one or more grommet assembly cable ties. Each grommet has one or more saddle surfaces to support and retain one or more objects that pass through the grommet assembly. Each object may be secured to at least one grommet piece with a cable tie or similar device. A single piece grommet is also disclosed herein.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2017Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: HellermannTyton CorporationInventors: Reese L. Vaughn, Justin Gallion, Gerard G. Geiger

Patent number: 10348076Abstract: A mounting assembly including a mount member having a head portion and a stud portion extending downwardly from the head portion, and a clip member affixed to the stud portion of the mount member. The head portion may include slot which interacts with a flexible tie for bundling elongate items. The flexible tie may be integrally formed with the assembly or may be provided as a separate piece. A clip member for use with the assembly clip member includes at least one extending arm portion for engaging a reentrant bore and preventing axial withdrawal of the assembly. The arm portion may have a bifurcated end. A diaphragm spring extending downwardly from the head portion may also be provided.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2016Date of Patent: July 9, 2019Assignee: HELLERMANNTYTON CORPORATIONInventors: Justin Gallion, Jonathan Zick, Gerard G. Patent number: 10316991Abstract: A mounting clamp assembly configured to support one or more elongate elements from a cantilevered support. The mounting clamp assembly includes a clamp body having a stationary jaw defining a first clamping surface. The clamp body defines a plurality of clamp body teeth and a ratcheting member slideably attached to the clamp body. The ratcheting member has a moveable jaw that defines a second clamping surface opposite the first clamping surface. The ratcheting member further defines a plurality of ratcheting member teeth that are configured to engage the clamp body teeth. The plurality of ratcheting member teeth have a saw tooth profile, thereby providing a clamping force that slideably moves the stationary jaw and the moveable jaw toward one another that is less than an unclamping force that moves the stationary jaw and the moveable jaw away from one another.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2017Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: HELLERMANNTYTON CORPORATIONInventor: Justin Gallion
