  • Publication number: 20200029218
Abstract: A methodology for processing authorization request messages based on proximate wireless networks is disclosed. In particular, a computer may receive, from an access device or a communication device, an authorization request message in a transaction. The computer may then obtain network data based on a set of wireless networks that are proximate to the access device or the communication device interacting with the access device during the transaction. Next, the computer may determine a difference between the network data and previous network data, wherein the previous network data is based on one or more previous sets of wireless networks that were proximate to the access device or the communication device during one or more previous transactions. Responsive to determining that the difference exceeds threshold, the computer may initiate one or more actions associated with the transaction.

  • Patent number: 10085122
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining device location of a user device within a venue using a wireless positioning system is provided. The method includes identifying a plurality of signal sample sets, wherein each signal sample set includes a sample location within the venue and one or more wireless signal strengths of associated wireless access points positioned at the venue, wherein the sample location is determined based on location data associated with a corresponding payment card transaction within the venue. The method also includes receiving a subject wireless signal strength sample of the wireless access points captured by the user device at an unidentified location within the venue. The method further includes determining a subject location of the user device based on the plurality of signal sample sets and the one or more subject wireless signal strength samples, and providing the subject location of the user device within the venue.

  • Publication number: 20180110296
Abstract: An article of footwear includes a fastening system including a guide element and a carriage member slidably coupled to the guide element. A lacing element is coupled to the carriage member such that the position of the lacing element changes as the carriage member moves along the guide element. In an embodiment, the footwear includes a lateral side rail and a medial side rail, each rail including a series of carriage members selectively movable along the rail for a predetermined distance. The lacing element extends repeatedly from the lateral side to the medial side, being captured by the carriage members. In operation, the carriage members move along the rail, adapting the positioning of the lacing element.

  • Publication number: 20180103714
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward an article of footwear effective to regulate the temperature of the feet of a wearer. In an embodiment, the article of footwear includes an upper and an insole with a thermal effect membrane. The thermal effect membrane contains a plurality of system-reactive components selectively engaged heat and/or moisture. In an embodiment, the printed coating includes a cooling agent, a phase change material, and a heat dissipation material. The bottom of the sole structure of the article of footwear further includes a multiple openings in the forefoot, midfoot, and hindfoot regions. The multiple openings promote airflow into the interior of the upper. In operation, the article of footwear is effective to delay/diminish the rise in skin temperature (compared to footwear lacking the membrane and/or openings), increasing wearer comfort.

  • Publication number: 20180018667
Abstract: A apparatus and method is disclosed for optimizing authorization approval in a proposed payment card transaction. In one embodiment an issuing country of the cardholder issuing bank is identified together with a plurality of potential merchant acquiring banks that could be used to process an authorization request for the proposed payment card transaction. Using historical data regarding previous proposed payment card transactions, historical approval rates are identified for each of the identified potential merchant acquiring bank configurations. The merchant acquiring bank configuration with the highest historical approval rating is selected as the optimal merchant bank configuration for processing authorization approval.
