An endoscope system includes an endoscope device and means for directing a fluid adjacent a tip of the endoscope device. The fluid directing means includes a fluid container for containing the fluid, the container including an inlet and an outlet. The system further includes separating means for separating liquid or solid particles from gas entering the container through the inlet.
