    Abstract: The present invention provides relates to the location and management of components in a unified manner across an enterprise using the Reusable Asset Specification (RAS). A method for locating components across an enterprise in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes: generating a RAS asset for each of a plurality of components; registering each of the RAS assets on at least one RAS repository, the registering providing meta-data for each of the plurality of components; and locating a component using the meta-data provided in the RAS repositories during the registration process.
