  • Patent number: 11587333
Abstract: A system includes a plurality of sensors arranged in a vehicle to monitor an item in a storage area of a vehicle. The system comprises a data processing module configured to process data from the sensors, determine whether the item in the storage area of the vehicle is likely to move within the storage area or is likely to fall from the vehicle during travel, and generate a first indication that the item is likely to move within the storage area or is likely to fall from the vehicle during travel. The data processing module is configured to determine whether the item has moved within the storage area or has fallen from the vehicle during travel and generate a second indication that the item has moved within the storage area or has fallen from the vehicle during travel.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 10, 2020
Date of Patent: February 21, 2023
Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLC
Inventors: Jay H. Sim, Daniel S. Glaser, Justin K. Francisco, Udo W. Schultheis, Joseph F. Szczerba, Yi G. Glaser
  • Patent number: 11525911
Abstract: Systems and methods to control a radar system to perform cross-traffic management in a vehicle with a trailer involve determining a location of the trailer behind the vehicle, and adjusting an initial field of view of the radar system to a modified field of view that excludes the location of the trailer. One or more other vehicles are detected with the radar system having the modified field of view. A cross-traffic alert is implemented based on the detecting the one or more other vehicles.

  • Patent number: 10339813
Abstract: A display control system of a vehicle includes a surround view module configured to generate a surround view including a predetermined top view image of vehicle and one or more features located within a predetermined area around the vehicle. A parking module is configured to selectively generate a parking signal when, for at least a predetermined period, a vehicle speed is less than a predetermined speed and at least one of: (i) an accelerator pedal position is less than a predetermined position; (ii) a brake pedal position indicates a request for vehicle braking; and (iii) a magnitude of a steering wheel angle is greater than a predetermined steering wheel angle. A display control module is configured to, in response to the generation of the parking signal, display the surround view on a display within the vehicle.
    Type: Grant

Inventors: Richard Raybuck, III, Johannes Huth, Mohannad Murad, Justin K. Francisco
  • Patent number: 10239526
Abstract: Systems and processes are provided for adaptive cruise control. The process includes receiving information about a distance between vehicle and a traffic signal, receiving information about a state of the traffic signal, and determining whether to adjust the speed of the vehicle based upon the distance between the vehicle and the traffic signal and the state of the traffic signal.
