  • Patent number: 10054367
Abstract: Disclosed is a system to evaluate and monitor the status of a material forming part of an asset, such as a refractory furnace. The system is operative to identify flaws and measure the erosion profile and thickness of different materials, including refractory materials of an industrial furnace, using radiofrequency signals. The system is designed to integrate software with a plurality of sensors and additional hardware to collect data during an inspection of the furnace, even in regions of difficult access. Furthermore, the system comprises a software management subsystem configured to implement signal processing techniques to process the data collected and generate reports to visualize the status, estimate the remaining operational life, and determine the level of penetration of molten material into the surrounding layers of the furnace. Moreover, the system's software enables a user to monitor the status of the furnace both locally and remotely.

  • Patent number: 9878211
Abstract: Disclosed is a propulsion system that comprises a power source coupled to a flotation device. The power source can be rechargeable. The system further comprises at least one thruster configured to be coupled to a person. A power cable operably couples the power source and the at least one thruster. The system is configured such that the at least one thruster propels the person through the water while the power source remains at a surface of the water and coupled to the flotation device. The system can include an air supply assembly.

  • Publication number: 20140150327
Abstract: A floatation device. The floatation device may comprise: at least two float portions and one or more fasteners. The two float portions may be opposing halves of a floatation float configured to form a float when combined. The one or more fasteners may be aligned and positioned on the outer side of the two float portions, such that, when the fasteners engage with each other, the two float portions form as a float. The fasteners may be strap fasteners. Accordingly, the float portions may fasten together on a fishing line after mating the fasteners. To increase the strength of the fastening the devices, an adhesive fastener may be included on the contact surfaces of the float portions. Each float portion may also comprise a recess and a projection for mating or engaging. The floatation device is particularly useful as a floating support for seines and commercial fishing nets.
