  • Publication number: 20250158486
Abstract: A direct drive wheel end generator system configured to produce electricity based on a rotation of a wheel hub and a housing around a stationary spindle. The direct drive wheel end generator system may include an electric generator within the housing. The electric generator may include one or more rotors coupled to the housing and one or more stator windings coupled to the spindle. The housing may be coupled to the hub via one or more fasteners extending through one or more holes in the housing and one or more corresponding holes in the hub.

  • Publication number: 20250149977
Abstract: A soft start inverter coupled to one or more batteries and configured to provide one or more output AC voltages for powering a compressor of a transport refrigeration unit (TRU). The soft start inverter is initialized in a low voltage/frequency mode to provide a first voltage at a first frequency. Upon determining that a relay within the compressor contactor is in a closed state and the compressor is commanded on, a controller may be configured to cause the soft start inverter to initiate a high voltage/frequency mode in which the soft start inverter provides a second voltage at a second frequency. Upon determining that the relay is in an open state and the current output by the soft start inverter has fallen below a predetermined threshold, the controller may be configured to cause the soft start inverter to return to the low voltage/frequency mode.

  • Patent number: 10202913
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for operating an electric supercharger as an on-board air pump and/or vacuum pump. During conditions when a vehicle is not being propelled and the vehicle engine is idling, a portion of an air intake passage is sealed and the supercharger is operated to deliver compressed air into the sealed portion. Compressed air can then be picked up directly from the sealed portion for use in tire inflation, or picked up via an ejector to provide vacuum for vacuum actuators.

  • Patent number: 9714620
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for improving boost response in a turbocharged engine. In one example, a method may include in response to a tip-out following a tip-in, when an exhaust catalyst temperature is within a threshold range, deactivating fuel injectors to the engine and increasing air flow to an exhaust turbine based on a desired increase in a turbine speed to maintain the turbine speed at or above a threshold speed.
