  • Publication number: 20240137352
Abstract: Some techniques are described herein for initially setting up an accessory with a controller. Such techniques have a setup component of a controller establish a relationship with the accessory and facilitate establishment of relationships between applications of the controller and the accessory. In some examples, the setup component causes an accessory management credential to be installed on the accessory so that the accessory can be configured by the setup component to establish a relationship with an application in communication with the setup component. In some examples, such communication between the application and the accessory occurs without further interactions with the setup component.

  • Publication number: 20230239734
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for managing message redundancy for one or more devices. In one example, a device receives a message from a second device using a transmission protocol, the message comprising a control instruction for an accessory device and a message identifier. The device can transmit using the transmission protocol, a second message to the accessory device, the second message comprising the control instruction and a second message identifier. The device can receive a third message from the second device using a second transmission protocol, the second message comprising a second control instruction for the accessory device and a third message identifier. The device can compare the third message identifier with the message identifier to determine whether the second control instruction is a duplicate of the control instruction. The device can determine whether to transmit the third message to the accessory device based on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 11513677
Abstract: An electronic device displays a messaging interface. The messaging user interface includes a search affordance and a conversation between a user of the device and another user. While displaying the messaging interface, the device detects activation of the search affordance. In response, the device ceases displaying the messaging interface and displays a search interface. The search user interface includes a search field and categorized content items. The categorized content items include a content item stored on the device and a content item from the Internet. While displaying the search interface, the device detects selection of a first item in the categorized content items; and, afterwards, displays the first item in the conversation. The device transmits the first item to the device that corresponds to the other user in the messaging session. • Patent number: 11088807
Abstract: Application-level acknowledgements may be used to verify that a data packet has not only been received, but has been successfully processed by the appropriate application operating on a device that received the data packet. For example, in one embodiment, two devices may be registered with an identity service that enables security and push messaging. A first device may communicate a data packet to another device that is associated with the same identity account through the identity service. The device receiving the data packet may send an acknowledgement verifying receipt of the data packet. After an application has processed the data packet, an acknowledgement that the data packet was processed may also be send from the second device to the first device.
