    Abstract: A retractable brace for an ambulance attendant for use in an ambulance is disclosed. A lockable scissors mechanism is used to move an anchoring platform between a fully extended substantially vertical position adjacent the attendant's work area for securing the ambulance attendant thereto, and a stowed fully retracted substantially vertical position against the side wall of the ambulance. The plate can be locked in a number of positions.
