Abstract: A snow blower device having a housing forming a cavity configured to receive snow. A rotatable auger is supported by the housing and positioned within the cavity to gather and direct snow into a discharge chute having a lumen extending from the inside of the housing to the outside of the housing. The device further includes a blade combined with the frame and movable between a retracted position and an engaged position. In the retracted position the blade is positioned to let the snow reach the auger when the snow blower is moved in the forward direction. In the engaged position the blade is moved downward so that it contacts the ground surface and functions as a plow or snow push when the snow blower is moved in a backward direction.
