  • Publication number: 20240142334
Abstract: A method of diagnosing a pneumatic system that (1) pressurizes the system to a first inflation pressure, (2) ceases the pressurizing for a settling-in time period, (3) measures a settled-in pressure after the settling-in time period, (4) measures a decayed pressure after a decay time period, (5) determines a determined rate of decay of the pressure in the system over the decay time period, and (6) compares the determined rate of decay to a first stored decay rate.

  • Publication number: 20230310237
Abstract: A mattress cover for a mattress providing movement therapy to a patient. A patient support portion covers the upper surface of the mattress, and a bottom portion is coupled to the patient support portion. The mattress cover may substantially encase the mattress. An augmenting feature is associated with a peripheral portion with the augmenting feature adapted to move between a stored configuration, and a deployed configuration in response to increasing thickness of the mattress during the movement therapy. The augmenting feature may include concertinaed material, such as thermoformed plastic, and/or a fold of material coupled to the peripheral portion. The patient support portion and the bottom portion may at least partially overlap and be moveable relative to one another. • Patent number: 11642266
Abstract: A patient support apparatus is provided with selective stiffening features. The patient support apparatus may include a support substrate defining a patient support surface. The support substrate may include a magnetorheological material providing selective reinforcement support of at least a portion of the patient support surface to redistribute pressure about a surface of a patient. The magnetorheological material may include a distribution of ferromagnetic particles disposed within a polymeric material and exhibits a shape conforming, variable stiffness in response to exposure to a magnetic field. A controller may be provided and configured to create a correlation of patient specific data with an optimal stiffness or inflection force deflection (IFD) of the patient support surface, and generate a strength of the magnetic field based on the correlation.

  • Patent number: 10097892
Abstract: A content generation device (CGD), includes an opaque writing capture device (WCD), and an image capture device (ICD) and a mirror/antireflective pane with 45 degree beamsplitters. The ICD captures image content of a user performing drawing and/or writing on an opaque WCD, when the user is located external to the CGD and in front of the opaque WCD, and the capturing of the image content occurs from within the CGD and behind the opaque WCD. The opaque WCD concurrently captures user generated content corresponding to the drawing and/or writing. The CGD synchronously merges the image content and the user generated content to generate merged content and presents the merged content from within the CGD so that the presented merged content is viewable by the user through the opaque WCD. The CGD communicates the merged content to a multicast network operator for publication via one or more networks.
