Patent number: 12124498Abstract: A time code to byte conversion system is provided herein that maps time codes to byte ranges such that a user device can retrieve a portion of, but not all of, a media file by specifying a time range. For example, the time code to byte conversion system can play a media file and identify the byte at which each time code begins. The time code to byte conversion system can then store the byte to time code mapping in an index accessible by a media retrieval server. A user device can then provide a time range to the media retrieval server, the media retrieval server can query the index to identify the range of bytes that corresponds to the provided time range, and then the media retrieval server can retrieve the identified range of bytes from a media database for transmission to the user device.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2020Date of Patent: October 22, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jeremiah Dunham, Andrew Tunall, Benjamin Schwartz, Jason LaPier, Justin Abrahms

Patent number: 12095761Abstract: A first computer and a second computer are each connected to a communication network. User data is generated for a user by the first computer based on receiving, from the second computer, initial enrollment biometric data for the user. The user is authorized by the first computer based on a confidence score for challenge biometric data exceeding a first confidence threshold. Then the user data is updated with updated enrollment biometric data by the first computer based on a confidence score for the updated enrollment biometric data exceeding a second confidence threshold. The second confidence threshold is greater than the first confidence threshold. The initial enrollment biometric data is deleted by the second computer after a predetermined time of receiving the initial enrollment biometric data.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2021Date of Patent: September 17, 2024Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Ali Hassani, Jake Schwartz, Medha Karkare, Justin Miller, John Robert Van Wiemeersch

Publication number: 20240289826Abstract: Computer-based systems and methods for discovering neighborhood clusters in a geographic region, where the clusters have a mix of venues and are determined based on venue check-in data. The mix of venues for the clusters may be based on the social similarity between pairs of venues; or emblematic of certain neighborhood typologies; or emblematic of temporal check-in pattern types; or combinations thereof. The neighborhood clusters that are so discovered through venue-check in data could be used for many commercial and civic purposes.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2024Publication date: August 29, 2024Applicant: CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITYInventors: Justin CRANSHAW, Raz SCHWARTZ, Jason I. Publication number: 20240037615Abstract: A token management system for an entertainment venue includes a processing system with one or more processors and memory storing instructions executable by the processing system. The instructions are executable by the processing system to cause the processing system to identify a digital token possessed by a user, to access one or more permissions stored in association with the digital token, and to determine information about the user. Additionally, the instructions are executable by the processing system to cause the processing system to enable one or more actions for the digital token in response to determining that the information complies with the one or more permissions stored in association with the digital token.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2023Publication date: February 1, 2024Inventor: Justin Schwartz
