The first panel and the second panel are at least partially disposed within gaps between stringers of the base. The band style fastener is disposed about a portion of the base and a portion of one of the first panel and the second panel. The band style fastener secures the one of the first panel and the second panel to the base. The first panel and the second panel at least partially disposed in the base facilitates a transition fit therebetween. The collapsible crate is compact when the crate is collapsed and decreases a cost of the crate.
