Abstract: An apparatus and method for real-time audio processing employs a gaze detection sensor to detect a direction of a user's gaze and output a gaze signal corresponding to the detected direction of the user's gaze. A digital signal processing unit responds to a plurality of signals corresponding to a plurality of sounds received at the apparatus, and the determined direction of gaze to identify a signal of interest from the plurality of signals using the gaze signal. The signal of interest is processed for output to the user. In embodiments, a microphone array provides the plurality of signals. An imaging sensor may work with either the microphone array or the gaze detection sensor to identify the signal of interest.

Abstract: Techniques for obtaining geographically-relevant product inventory information, in real-time, from heterogeneous data sources are described. Product inventory information, including the volume of available products in specific geographical locations, is obtained from at least three different sources. First, one or more data feeds may be received. Second, a data obtaining module uses one or more APIs to obtain product inventory information from one or more third-party inventory management systems. Finally, a structured data mining module uses a web crawler, at the direction of a crawler configuration, to systematically obtain product inventory information from various third-party websites. Accordingly, a user's search query is processed to provide geographically relevant product inventory information in near real time.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for modification of content according to user engagement are described herein. A user interface that depicts an item page that describes an item available for sale is displayed by the system on a screen of a mobile device. The system receives signals generated by a wearable device worn by a user, and the signals indicate a physical response to the displayed user interface on the screen of the mobile device. The system determines that a level of engagement from the user transgresses a threshold level of engagement, and the determining is based on the received signals. Further, the system modifies the user interface displayed on the screen of the mobile device based on the determining that the level of engagement from the user transgresses the threshold level of engagement.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, previous search queries and clicked-on results are retrieved. This results in one or more pairs, each pair containing a query from the search term database and a first set of search engine results from the click database. Then a score is calculated for each feature within the one or more pairs, and a second set of search queries is boosted using the scores for the features.

A method includes determining parameters of one or more user interface elements as part of a first application, the first application selected based on an increased usage by a user compared with other applications, generating a profile for the user, the profile indicating the respective parameters of the one or more user interface elements, and modifying locations of user interface elements with matching predetermined identifiers as part of a second application based on the respective parameters indicated in the profile.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for visual search and associated data decay models are presented. In one example embodiment, image history data associated with an output display of the machine is captured. The image history data is analyzed to identify groups of images associated with a plurality of events, and context information is identified that is associated with the plurality of events. One or more images for each event of the plurality of events is selected as a key image for an associated event as part of a plurality of key images, and a searchable event timeline index is generated. Key frames from an index of activities of one or more devices may then be displayed as part of a user search for information.
