  • Publication number: 20240108422
Abstract: A steerable arm for use in endoscopic surgical procedures. The steerable arm cut from a tube of nitinol to provide flexibility and resilience by the structure into which the tube is cut. Typically, the cut tube comprises a spiralling coil, the loops of which are in contact on one lateral side of the tube and the tube is bent to open apart the loops on the other lateral side. The material which the tube is made of is capable of retaining memory of the bend. This provides a bias for restoring the tube to the bend whenever a force causing the tube to flex is removed.

  • Patent number: 11945437
Abstract: A vehicle is provided that includes a cruise control deactivation system. The system includes a cruise control system, and a user control that, when activated, commands deactivation of the cruise control system. The system also includes a processor configured to permit or override the commanded deactivation of the cruise control system while the vehicle is moving, based on at least one criterion. Criteria may include whether or not a first sensor detects a foot of a driver of the vehicle on an accelerator pedal of the vehicle, and whether or not a first computation indicates that the deactivation of the cruise control system will cause a collision with a second vehicle located behind the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11937429
Abstract: Some embodiments include an integrated structure having vertically-stacked conductive levels alternating with dielectric levels. A layer over the conductive levels includes silicon, nitrogen, and one or more of carbon, oxygen, boron and phosphorus. In some embodiments the vertically-stacked conductive levels are wordline levels within a NAND memory array. Some embodiments include an integrated structure having vertically-stacked conductive levels alternating with dielectric levels. Vertically-stacked NAND memory cells are along the conductive levels within a memory array region. A staircase region is proximate the memory array region. The staircase region has electrical contacts in one-to-one correspondence with the conductive levels. A layer is over the memory array region and over the staircase region. The layer includes silicon, nitrogen, and one or more of carbon, oxygen, boron and phosphorus.

  • Patent number: 11934319
Abstract: A computer system includes physical memory devices of different types that store randomly-accessible data in a main memory of the computer system. In one approach, an operating system allocates memory from a namespace for use by an application. The namespace is a logical reference to physical memory devices in which physical addresses are defined. The namespace is bound to a memory type. In response to binding the namespace to the memory type, the operating system adjusts a page table to map a logical memory address in the namespace to a memory device of the memory type.
