  • Patent number: 10395891
Abstract: A resolving aperture assembly for an ion implantation system has a first plate and a second plate, where the first plate and second plate generally define a resolving aperture therebetween. A position of the first plate with respect to the second plate generally defines a width of the resolving aperture. One or more actuators are operably coupled to one or more of the first plate and second plate and are configured to selectively vary the position the first plate and second plate with respect to one another, thus selectively varying the width of the resolving aperture. A servo motor precisely varies the resolving aperture width and a pneumatic cylinder independently selectively closes the resolving aperture. A downstream position actuator varies a position of the resolving aperture along a path of the ion beam, and a controller controls the one or more actuators based on desired properties of the ion beam.

  • Patent number: 10281235
Abstract: The invention is a versatile and modular sling for carrying a firearm around a user's neck, torso, or over one shoulder. The sling includes a closed sling loop formed from an elastic cord, a primary strap secured to a portion of the sling loop that is operable to anchor the sling loop in a given orientation relative to the firearm, and a secondary strap releasably attached to the sling loop that is slidable along the length of the sling loop to easily convert the sling between one-point, two-point, and three-point configurations. The sling can be attached to the firearm by use of studs or swivels in a conventional manner or can be attached directly to the firearm by using adjustable loops at each end of each strap.

  • Publication number: 20180224419
Abstract: A filtration system for a soil analysis device and methods of pressure filtration and automated cleaning are disclosed for generating filtrate used in measuring characteristics of a soil sample and preparing the filtration system for repeated measurements. A mixing chamber combines a soil sample and an extractant into a liquid mixture. The filtration system receives and pressure filters the liquid mixture to quickly generate filtrate used to measure characteristics of the sample. The filtrate is passed to a measurement cell for analysis. Once the analysis is complete, the filtration system performs a cleaning process in preparation to receive a subsequent liquid mixture from another soil sample.

  • Publication number: 20170009557
Abstract: Systems and methods for processing solid wastes from oil field operations are described, which may include or encompass removal of wastes from oil tanks, solid particle size reduction and recovery, and disposal by injection into a subterranean formation. Removal of liquefied solid wastes from oil tanks may be achieved by a washout and vacuum conveyance system. Solid wastes may be processed through a particle size reduction system. The particle size reduction system may include one or more separators each having an appropriate particle size threshold, one or more slurry tanks, an apparatus such as a grinder configured for reducing particle size, and one or more slurry pumps that transfer the slurry through one or more recirculation circuits or transfer conduits. Particle size may be further reduced by high velocity transport through the recirculation circuits. The processed slurry may be disposed of by re-injection into a subterranean injection zone.

  • Publication number: 20150267396
Abstract: An expandable shelter having an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration in which the shelter has the approximate dimensions of a standard International Organization for Standardization (ISO) freight container. The expandable shelter includes first and second substantially parallel corner posts disposed at a first end of the shelter. The expandable shelter also includes a ramp coupled with hinges at the first end of the shelter and is configured to fit securely on the interior of the first and second corner posts when in a closed configuration in which the ramp is disposed between the first and second corner posts. The expandable shelter has sufficient strength to withstand the forces of at least eight similar shelters stacked on top of the shelter.

  • Publication number: 20130184061
Abstract: An electronic gaming machine (EGM) or game computer for on-line gaming receives a player's unique ID. The host system then detects a stored status level of the player and communicates the status level to the game computer. The status level may be determined by a survey answered by the player identifying self-impose loss limits. The game computer then presents a plurality of games available to the player based on the status level of the player, there being different sets of games presented to the player depending on the player's status level. Games associated with a higher status level may be more complex and/or have higher possible wagering limits. The player selects and plays one of the games. Over time, the host system accumulates information about the player's performance and imposes the loss limits and/or gaming time limits.

  • Publication number: 20130022167
Abstract: A reel-like format for transporting devices under test (DUT) into low power x-ray inspection system allows for high speed transportation and inspection that is several orders of magnitude faster than conventional systems. The system can be configured with a conveyor belt for handling of non-reel suitable DUTs. A stabilizing control mechanism precisely and accurately brings the tape (with components) into the x-raying window, that allows spatial displacement of a portion of the to-be-viewed tape.
