    Abstract: The invention generally pertains to a chip tray for storing casino currency. By way of example, one chip tray is a dual chip tray having a lower housing assembly having an interior configured for receiving at least one removable chip tray for holding gaming currency. A top tray sub assembly is hinged relative to the lower housing assembly to pivot between a closed position and an open position. A chip tray lid is provided to cover the lower housing assembly in a covered position. In another example, RFID antennas are positioned within the lower housing assembly and the top tray sub assembly. The RFID antennas are configured to read and communicate with RFID-enabled gaming currency in the lower housing assembly and the top tray sub assembly.

    Abstract: A gaming table comprising a tabletop configured to receive gaming accessories, a base connected to and configured to support the tabletop, an antenna located in the tabletop and configured to operate by at least one of, detecting, reading, writing to, tracking, or any combination thereof, the gaming accessories, and a cup shield configured to keep the antenna from being read from outside the antenna system, shield and protect it from electromagnetic and RF interferences and prevent detuning, the cup shield being located under the tabletop and aligned with the antenna. The base can include a side wall connected to a back panel, a shelf connected to the side wall and the back panel, and a pipe configured to isolate, insulate or shield a plurality of wires, the back panel and the shelf having a plurality of openings configured to ventilate heat from inside the base to outside of the table.

By way of example, one portable gaming currency reader has a portable reader housing having a currency reading surface, a shielded antenna located adjacent to the currency reading surface for reading and communicating with the memory of each RFID tag embedded within RFID-enabled gaming currency located on the currency reading surface, and an RFID reader coupled to the shielded antenna for communicating with the shielded antenna to identify, read from and write to each RFID tag associated with RFID-enabled gaming currency located on the currency reading surface. The reader is also provided with a display configured for indicating information about the RFID-enabled gaming currency located on the currency reading surface, such as number and value.
