  • Patent number: 9805415
Abstract: A system, method, and software product for obtaining details on merchant data from customers purchasing goods or services at a merchant with a payment instrument. After customers make purchases, a server associated with a payment instrument network or payment instrument issuing bank sends a message in the form of a signal to open an application, an SMS, an e-mail, an electronic bank statement, or other electronic means to the customer offering the customer the opportunity to provide details on merchant data on the merchant where the purchase was just made, including the name and address of the merchant where the purchase was just made. The customer may be offered rewards for providing of details on merchant data. The payment instrument network and payment instrument issuing bank are thus presented with the opportunity to mine data in a crowdsourced manner from consumers who have just purchased from a merchant.

  • Publication number: 20160335631
Abstract: A system and method are provided herein for self-imposing a financial penalty for purchasing comestibles containing nutritional content not in compliance with user pre-defined nutritional content guidelines. One or more user pre-defined nutritional content guidelines and one or more user pre-defined target accounts are stored and associated with one or more financial transaction instruments of the user. Financial transactions based on the one or more financial transaction instruments are monitored to identify comestibles purchased by the user. If the nutritional content of at least one of the purchased comestibles is not in compliance with the guidelines, a financial transaction is initiated to transfer funds against the one or more financial transaction instruments in favor of the one or more target accounts. Advantageously, the method and system of the subject disclosure allows for a user to self-impose a financial incentive to abide by self-defined nutritional guidelines.

  • Publication number: 20160335640
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for linking one or more geolocation devices held by an individual with a payment instrument used by the individual. A specialized computing device receives graphical representations of geolocation history associated with one or more geolocation devices transmitting recognition IDs. The specialized computing device receives a payment instrument identification and associated graphical representation of spending history, to be linked with the one or more geolocation devices. A volume difference is calculated between the graphical representation of spending history and the graphical representation of geolocation history. A determination is then made if the volume difference between the graphical representation of spending history and the exactly one graphical representation of geolocation history is below a match threshold and, if so, linking the payment instrument identification with the one or more geolocation devices transmitting the recognition IDs.

  • Publication number: 20160307251
Abstract: A system and method of managing an individual's apparel inventory using cashless transaction data comprises defining a set of one or more transaction search keys associated with identification information of an individual, a cashless transaction device associated with an individual, or a cashless payment account associated with an individual, and searching a transaction data storage for cashless transactions corresponding with the search keys. The transaction data includes SKU-level data describing the substance of the goods or services transacted. These search results are filtered for transactions in which the substance of the transaction relates to apparel. The SKU-level data among the first filtered search results is examined to determine a size and gender profile corresponding with a first individual that corresponds with the articles of apparel reflected in the first filtered search results.

  • Publication number: 20160198301
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for determining on a web map whether a business exists at a given location. A specialized computing device receives a possible geographic location indicating where the business may be. Details regarding device-present transactions completed with the business are accessed. Recognition IDs identifying locations for each associated geolocation device and associated payment instrument holder identifications of customers are received. Based upon the details regarding the completed device-present transactions, and the recognition IDs, a determination is made whether the business exists at the given location. Also presented is a system, method, and computer program product for utilization of details of completed payment instrument transactions completed with a mobile business using a mobile payment receiving device to display a location of a mobile business on a web map associated with a web mapping service.

  • Publication number: 20150278854
Abstract: An electronic message containing reservation data is received. The reservation data of the electronic message is parsed with a computer processor to identify a planned future travel activity of a customer. An identifier associated with the customer and at least one attribute of the planned future travel activity are stored at a computer database. A request is received for an advertisement to be displayed to the customer. One or more of the attributes are retrieved from the database. • Publication number: 20150262310
Abstract: Electronic transactions involving a subject merchant location are identified with a test transaction of a predetermined known amount, on a predetermined date, drawn upon a known account number. In the case of merchants having multiple transaction terminals in a given location, the process can be repeated for each transaction terminal. Once the test transaction is identified in either the clearing or authorization records, the merchant data string that make up the test transaction message can then be used to identify all transactions from each terminal of that merchant location. Accordingly, that merchant location's transactions are thereafter positively identifiable for any purpose.
