Publication number: 20240153288Abstract: Described herein are techniques for denoising images of samples produced using polarization microscopy. Polarization images captured by polarization microscopy contain not only signals produced from polarization, but also signals produced from scattering by artifacts (e.g., crystals and/or hemosiderin). These off-target signals reduce the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the birefringent substance of interest, and reduce the utility and accuracy of polarization microscopy for substance quantification. The techniques developed by the inventors and described herein reduce noise resulting from scattering, thus enabling much cleaner, noise-reduced images. The images so produced can be either directly visualized by a medical practitioner or used for downstream machine-learning models. Noise reduction involves i) dividing an image in segments (e.g., pixels or groups of pixels), ii) performing spectral analysis of each segment, and iii) separating each segment on the basis of its spectral profiles.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Applicant: PathAl, Inc.Inventors: Justin Lee, Seyed Mohammad Mirzadeh, Tan Huu Nguyen, Waleed Tahir, Jun Zhang, Yibo Zhang

Publication number: 20240153616Abstract: In some aspects, a method, a system, or a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described for using a machine learning (ML) model to obtain annotations of a pathology slide image obtained in a first imaging modality, where the ML model is trained based in part on images obtained from a second imaging modality different from the first imaging modality. The first imaging modality is a conventional scanner for whole-slide images (WSI). The second imaging modality may include one or more of multispectral imaging (MSI), polarization imaging, quantitative phase imaging, or a combination thereof. The trained ML model can generate annotations that include more details with higher accuracy in comparison to annotating based on the WSI images alone.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Applicant: PathAI, Inc.Inventors: Justin Lee, Seyed Mohammad Mirzadeh, Tan Huu Nguyen, Waleed Tahir, Jun Zhang, Yibo Zhang

Publication number: 20240081650Abstract: An optical coherence tomography scanning system traverses its respective scan pattern quickly, typically completing an entire two-dimensional frame faster than a conventional raster scanner completes one raster line segment. To traverse the scan pattern quickly, the system takes fewer A-scans per length of scan pattern than a conventional OCT scanner. To compensate for the sparsity of the sample points along the respective scan line segments, and for gaps between respective line segments of the trajectory, the system acquires and combines several partially overlapping frames for each study.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Christopher John CIRIELLO, Wei KANG, Phillip GETTO, Angela ZHANG, Justin LaRUE, Victor GRINBERG

Publication number: 20240079812Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a housing and a terminal position assurance. The housing includes a cavity extending along a cavity axis, with one side of the cavity having a positioning hole, and a pair of sides. The terminal position assurance has a top wall having a positioning column extending downward therefrom and aligned with the positioning hole, and two side walls extending downward from the top wall. The side walls selectively engage with the pair of sides of the housing in a first locking position and a second locking position. The first and second locking positions are defined along an actuation axis perpendicular to the cavity axis. In the first locking position, the positioning column is held out of the cavity. In the second locking position, the positioning column is moved into the cavity and is adapted to engage with a terminal arranged within the cavity.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 1, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Applicants: Tyco Electronics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Tyco Electronics AMP Korea Co., Ltd.Inventors: Wenfang (Felix) Zhang, Yongjian (Justin) Huang, Tongbao (Tim) Ding, Suk-Eun Jung

Patent number: 11921691Abstract: A method includes receiving a series of writes that each requests respective data to be stored at a database. For each respective write, the method includes storing the respective data in a first buffer associated with a first data streaming application and a second buffer associated with a second data streaming application. The method includes transmitting the respective data to the database. The method includes receiving, from the database, confirmation that the respective data of the respective write has been committed to the database. The confirmation includes an order indicator indicating an order the respective data of the respective write was committed to the database relative to other writes in the series of writes.
