  • Patent number: 5098911
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel crystalline form, containing water of crystallization, of 4-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydroimidazol[1,5-a] pyridin-5-yl)-benzonitrile hydrochloride of formula Ia ##STR1## and to a process for the preparation thereof. The novel crystalline form is distinguished by excellent storage stability.

  • Patent number: 3979442
Abstract: Diester-amine adducts of the formula ##EQU1## are provided, wherein A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 each denote alkyklene with 2 or 3 carbon atoms or 2-hydroxy-n-propylene, X.sub.1, X.sub.2 and X.sub.3 each denote hydrogen, alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms or hydroxyalkyl or hydroxyhalogenoalkyl with 2 to 4 carbon atoms or a radical of the formula ##EQU2## and, if n is 3 or 4, the individual X.sub.2 radicals are identical or different, Y.sub.1 denotes hydrogen, alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a radical of the formula ##EQU3## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each denote alkyl or alkenyl with 12 to 22 carbon atoms, m, s, s' and s" denote 1 or 2 and n denotes 1, 2, 3 or 4, with the ratio of the diester groups to the nitrogen atoms being at most 1:1. The adducts may be in the form of the free bases, acid salts or quaternary ammonium salts and are useful as agents for imparting a soft handle to organic fibrous materials, especially paper and textiles.

  • Patent number: 3956350
Abstract: This invention relates to the production of condensation products which can be used to impart a soft handle to textiles. A monobasic fatty acid with at least 8 carbon atoms and/or montanic acids is reacted with dipropylene triamine and/or diethylene triamine. At least 40 mol % of the acid must be a straight chain fatty acid with at least 12 carbon atoms. The molar ratio of fatty acid to triamine is about 2:1. Thereafter the resulting product is heated with urea in a molar ratio of product to urea of 1:0.5 to 1:1, and optionally the resulting urea condensate is treated with 1 to 5 moles of formaldehyde by mole of urea condensate. The final product can be made into an aqueous emulsion or organic solvent solution and used in the treatment of textiles to give an excellent and soft handle without yellowing of white textiles or changing the shade of coloured textiles.
