    Abstract: Outgoing emails and threads are compared to performance indicators, to identify problematic email behavior, and the problematic email behavior is matched to suggestions for changing email behavior and to explanations of how the outgoing emails containing the problematic email behavior cause undesirable incoming emails. The problematic email behavior is also compared to goal standards, to produce email behavior targets and goals. Behavioral feedback related to the problematic email behavior is provided using, for example, a dashboard display. The behavioral feedback can include suggestions for changing email behavior, email behavior targets and goals, societal email behavior comparisons relative to others, etc., links between the outgoing emails and behavior of others, an explanation of how the outgoing email impacts the quantity and quality of the incoming emails, etc.

    Abstract: A method for planning a transportation service includes sending transportation proposal to a plurality of organizations. The proposal includes one or more initial options, each including a set of variable parameters. Each organization can generate a modified option and make a commitment conditional on selected ones of the parameters. Each organization sends respective modified options to commuters of that organization who may specify their own pledges for at least one of the modified options, conditional on the organization-selected values for the variable parameters and optionally on commuter-selected values for the variable parameters. A cost-benefit function is computed for each of a set of revised options for the transportation service, each of the revised options being based on a combination of the variable parameters for which pledges which cover the combination have been received and one or more of the revised options is identified, based on the computed cost-benefit function.

The method includes acquiring usage data for an initial set of users of the devices and extracting features from the usage data. The user role profile associates the user with at least one of a set of roles. A new user's usage data is received and, with the trained model, a user role profile is predicting for the new user based on features extracted from the new user's usage data. A reference behavior is computed for the user based on the predicted user role profile and the reference behaviors for roles in the set of roles.

    Abstract: A print mediator includes an interface module which serves as an interface for a document to be submitted for printing. The interface module communicates with an associated printing infrastructure for acquiring color rendering information for a print queue of the printing infrastructure. A reviewing application receives the acquired color rendering information and generates a visual representation of a document to be submitted for printing based thereon. Problems relating to color rendering by the printing infrastructure are detected and proposals for correction are presented to the submitter by the reviewing application. The user can review the proposals and accept or reject them as well as making annotations on the document. An analogous reviewing application is accessed by the print shop operator to review the document and submitter's annotations.

    Abstract: A method suited to the detection and correction of red-eyes includes assigning a probability to pixels of a digital image of the pixel being in a red-eye, the probability being a function of a color of the pixel. Optionally, generally circular regions in the image of contiguous pixels which satisfy at least one test for a red-eye are identified. The test may include determining a size or shape of the region or an extent of overlap with a region comprising pixels having at least a threshold probability of being in a red-eye. For each of a plurality of the pixels, such as simply those in identified regions, or for all pixels or a larger group of the pixels, a color correction for the pixel is determined. The correction is a function of the assigned probability that the pixel is within a red-eye and a color of the pixel.
