  • Patent number: 11512972
Abstract: A method and system that provides navigational related audio or haptic feedback to a user traversing a route by mapping an initial route for a user to traverse, the initial route having paths and intersections; determining a current location of the user; inputting a route characteristic change of the initial route; determining possible paths associated with an intersection for the user to traverse when the current location of the user is within the predetermined distance of the intersection; ranking the determined possible paths based upon the initial route and the inputted route characteristic change; determining the head direction of the user when the current location of the user is within the predetermined distance of an intersection; determining which of the possible paths corresponds to the calculated head direction of the user; and providing an audio/haptic cue to the user based upon the ranking of the determined possible path corresponding to the determined head direction of the user.

  • Publication number: 20170372135
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for gathering knowledge within an organization for supporting the preparation, animation, and execution of a collaborative workshop for high speed and efficient document management and labeling. Printed documents are tracked within the system over a specified amount of time to acquire print job information from the jobs printed within an organization. Based upon the documents retrieved, a list of users is determined and invited to review and annotate the list of documents. The list of documents is then narrowed down to an optimized set for ease of labeling and clustering. Provision is made for user-annotation of the classification label associated with the submitted print jobs including a reason for printing the print job. User-annotations are received for at least some of the submitted print jobs. The print jobs may be clustered into clusters based on the print job representations and annotations.

  • Publication number: 20170357909
Abstract: A system and method that supports the efficient interactive identification of the most paper intensive document categories such that a maximum number of the documents belonging to those categories can be correctly categorized with a minimum effort and within a minimum amount of time is disclosed. Further, an iterative method combining automatic grouping mechanisms with human labelling. The system and method are configured to allow the automatic machine labelling to run iteratively to generate improved document clustering and categorization.

  • Patent number: 9477913
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system of differential processing a print job including one or more original documents to render an obfuscated version of the print job. According to an exemplary method, the differential process replaces letters of an original document with randomly selected characters of substantially the same size and location as the original document and objects such as images/graphics are replaced with blurred versions of substantially the same size and locations as the objects in the original document. The differential process creates an obfuscated version of the print job which is illegible and useful for further processing where privacy of documents included in the print job is required.

  • Publication number: 20160216923
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for identifying constraints to reducing consumable usage includes acquiring print job information for a set of print jobs submitted for printing by a set of users. A print job representation is computed for each of the print jobs from the print job information. Provision is made for user-annotation of a note associated with the submitted print jobs including a reason for printing the print job. User-annotations are received for at least some of the submitted print jobs. The print jobs may be clustered into clusters based on the print job representations and annotations. A representation of the set of print jobs includes a user dashboard and a group dashboard is generated which is based on the users' annotations and other users' included in a group to provide a structure for collaboration among the group members to identify the constraints to reducing consumable usage and/or provide solutions to reduce consumable usage.

  • Publication number: 20150317568
Abstract: A computer implemented method of forming carpools. Lists of participants in a rideshare environment are maintained. The participants are members of a private group and have privileges based on membership. A location of a participant is automatically determined based on a location detection method. A driver from the list of participants is automatically identified based on a current location of the driver. The driver proposes a trip comprising an approximate start time, approximate start location, end location, and number of available seats. Requests for transportation are received from passengers who are participants on the list of participants. For each available seat, the requests for transportation are automatically matched with the trip based on the approximate start time, the approximate start location, or the end location. Only certain passengers are matched with certain drivers. The matching identifies proposed riders.

  • Patent number: 8879103
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for identifying constraints to reducing consumable usage includes acquiring print job information for a set of print jobs submitted for printing by a set of users. A print job representation is computed for each of the print jobs based on features extracted from the print job information. Provision is made for user-annotation of the submitted print jobs with a task category and a constraint category. Each of a plurality of task categories represents a respective task with which the printing of a print job is associated. Each of a plurality of selectable constraint categories expresses a different reason for printing the print job. User-annotations are received for at least some of the submitted print jobs. The print jobs are clustered into clusters based on the print job representations and task category annotations.

  • Patent number: 8503016
Abstract: Systems and methods are employed to quantify resource usage for review by a user. Marking engine data contains information related to a print job sent to the marking engine and community data relates to resource usage by members of a plurality of communities within a system. A resource profiling component receives the marking engine data and the community data to evaluate resource usage by a user compared to one or more of a user within their community. A visualization component receives the evaluation from the resource profiling component, generates a graphic associated with the evaluation and presents and distributes the graphic to one or more recipients.

  • Patent number: 8400661
Abstract: A system and method for promoting environmental behavior by device users are provided. The method includes allocating “green” points to each of a plurality of users. A job request, such as a print job request, is received from one of the users. A cost in points is computed for executing the job request, based on a formula which is designed to promote environmental behavior by the user. The user's allocated points are reduced by the computed cost when the job is performed.

  • Patent number: 8045798
Abstract: An image partitioner is configured to find a partition point that divides a received image into four sub-images each having a pre-selected activated pixel count. A recursion processor is configured to (i) apply the image partitioner to an input image to generate a first partition point and four sub-images and to (ii) recursively apply the image partitioner to at least one of the four sub-images for at least one recursion iteration to generate at least one additional partition point. A formatter is configured to generate a features representation of the input image in a selected format. The features representation is based at least in part on the partition points. The features representation can be used in various ways, such as by a classifier configured to classify the input image based on the features representation.
