  • Patent number: 9004757
Abstract: A medical imaging assembly includes a first imaging plate and a second imaging plate for acquiring a first and a second medical image. A container is configured to receive and hold the first imaging plate and the second imaging plate in a predetermined overlapping orientation. An image reader receives the first and second medical images and produces first and second digital medical images. A processor creates a composite image of the first and second digital images. A method of acquiring a medical image includes identifying an overlapped region of a lower image and an upper image. An alignment transformation is identified by matching the overlapped regions of the upper and lower images. The upper and lower images are aligned based upon the alignment transformation. A composite medical image is created from the upper image and the lower image.

  • Publication number: 20110176717
Abstract: A method, device and software for performing tomographic imaging with several offset values in such a way that the first imaging phase is performed by scanning at least a part of the object to be imaged by following the first arc of the first rotating movement to produce the first image information, —the offset of the imaging is changed between imaging phases during imaging, —at least one other imaging phase is performed with at least one changed offset to produce second image information of at least part of the object, —the said image information produced by different offsets is combined into three-dimensional image information.

  • Publication number: 20080112531
Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly for executing a cone-beam X-ray imaging process. The assembly comprises in the path of X-radiation at least two reference markers (26), which comprise materials whose densities are different from each other. In view of performing a cone-beam X-ray imaging process, the assembly comprises an X-ray source (6) for generating X-radiation and transmitting it to an object (2), a collimator (7) collimator before the object for collimating the X-radiation for a conical or pyramidal beam of rays, a detector (8) capable of receiving X-radiation transmitted through the object for providing X-ray image information, scanner means (16), on the basis of whose movements said X-ray imaging is effected from more than one angle of view, and an image processing unit (12) for utilizing the density information of the reference markers in the processing of X-ray image information.
