  • Patent number: 5125810
Abstract: A scroll compressor having an orbiting scroll member, a stationary scroll member and an Oldham's ring. The stationary scroll member is made of a material having a higher rigidity than the material forming the orbiting scroll member, and a higher density as well as a lower thermal conductivity than any of the materials forming the orbiting scroll member and the Oldham's ring.

  • Patent number: 5037279
Abstract: A scroll fluid machine in which a stationary scroll member and an orbiting scroll member each have an end plate and involute wrap on said end plate and mesh with each other. A winding-start portion of the wrap has such a section such that a base thereof is thick and the tip thereof is thin, with a curve of an inside line at each of the bases of the wraps is made as thick as possible while avoiding mutual interference between the wrap of fixed scroll member and the wrap of orbiting scroll member. A curve of an inside line at each of tips of the wraps has such a shape that it gradually thinned toward an inner periphery end thereof, and a section of each wraps in the wrap axial direction has such a shape that it is gradually reduced in thickness from the base toward the tip.

  • Patent number: 4989414
Abstract: An air conditioner provided with a refrigerant circuit formed by connecting with piping a refrigerant compressor, a condenser, an expansion means and an evaporator, an inverter power supply means for controlling the rotational speed of an electric motor for driving the refrigerant compressor, a load detector, and a controller for controlling the inverter power supply means on the basis of an output from the load detector. A refrigerant flow passage controlling mechanism is provided to change the rate at which the refrigerant flows through the condenser on the basis of a control command from the controller, thereby making it possible to reduce or increase the discharge rate without extending the range of changes in the rotational speed of the compressor. The compressor can be controlled according to a wide range of changes in the load to operate with an operation range which ensures high efficiency of the compressor operation.

  • Patent number: 4904170
Abstract: A scroll-type fluid machine comprises a stationary scroll member, an orbiting scroll member, a rotation-prevention mechanism for the orbiting scroll member, and a casting accommodating therein both members and the mechanism. The involute angle of a terminal end of a wrap of the orbiting scroll member is selected to be less than that of the wrap of the stationary scroll member by an angle which ranges between 60.degree. and 120.degree., preferably, about 90.degree., thereby reducing a level of force applied to the rotation-prevention mechanism which prevents the orbiting scroll member from rotating about its own axis.

  • Patent number: 4810176
Abstract: In a scroll compressor, an anti-rotation mechanism is interposed between a back surface of an end plate of an orbiting scroll member and a flat surface of a frame facing the back surface. A seal mechanism or a thrust bearing portion is provided on the surfaces of a disc member of the anti-rotation mechanism which are maintained in contact with the back surface of the end plate of the orbiting scroll member and the flat surface of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4368621
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of operating an air conditioner having a plurality of indoor units connected to a common outdoor unit as heat source machine. When operation of a plurality of indoor units is dictated depending upon the temperature differences between the room temperatures and the set temperatures therefor, the indoor unit having the smallest temperature difference is determined among those indoor units which are to operate, and the amount of heat exchange is limited in the indoor unit having the smallest temperature difference to advantageously perform air conditioning in respective rooms in which the indoor units are provided.
